WaveMaker unveils AI tool for swift Figma design coding

Yesterday

WaveMaker has announced the introduction of WaveMaker AutoCode, a design-to-code accelerator that relies on artificial intelligence to facilitate seamless UI development.

The new tool enables the conversion of Figma UI designs into operational components, layouts, and styles within minutes, significantly bridging the gap from design to development. "WaveMaker AutoCode is a game-changer for application development teams battling with the twin challenges of increasing velocity to the business while striving to deliver applications that are pixel-to-pixel matched with designs," said Vijay Pullur, Co-founder and CEO at WaveMaker.

WaveMaker AutoCode integrates as a plugin within the Figma environment and generates front-end components with high precision, ensuring a match to the original design. The technology is instantly operational for Figma designs that employ the Material 3 design system and is customisable for proprietary design systems.

The development teams are offered a well-defined workflow that supports the creation of captivating and high-performance applications while maintaining pixel-perfect design fidelity. WaveMaker AutoCode provides seamless conversion from design to UI and automatic component detection. It can discern elements such as forms and lists and align them with widgets in WaveMaker Studio.

The system ensures design language consistency by supporting Figma's design tokens, variables, and modes, retaining the integrity of the initial design throughout the development phase. Additionally, the generated code supports scalability and security, utilising tested Angular code for web applications and React Native for mobile applications, complete with features like authentication and internationalisation.

WaveMaker AutoCode adapts to client-specific design systems, allowing flexibility for enterprises with distinctive Design Language Systems. Its pairing with WaveMaker MyStudio enables businesses to standardise processes and rapidly modernise applications, facilitating easy integrations with custom business logic.

Following this introduction, WaveMaker continues to expand its suite of productivity tools. Alongside AutoCode, the company offers a UI Kit for preconstructed UI components and an AI-powered assistant, CoPilot, for automatic customisation. These tools help ensure that quality and consistency are preserved while facilitating scalable custom application development.

The comprehensive integration of these tools allows developers to continue using WaveMaker's drag-and-drop widgets in application design, adhering to the Wave design language system. WaveMaker AutoCode is now available for use on the company's official platform and on Figma, providing developers and designers with a powerful addition to their toolkit.
