DTCC unveils ComposerX for digital assets lifecycle management

Yesterday

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation has announced the launch of ComposerX, a suite designed to manage digital assets throughout their lifecycle.

ComposerX, previously known as the Securrency product suite, aims to accelerate the adoption of digital assets by streamlining the processes of token creation and settlement within the financial sector. This comprehensive solution includes platforms that facilitate issuance, distribution, servicing, and reporting of digital assets.

The suite comprises three main platforms: the ComposerX Capital Markets Platform (CMP), the ComposerX Factory, and the ComposerX LedgerScan. Each platform is designed to support different stages of the digital asset lifecycle, providing enhanced capabilities for managing transactions, data, and smart contracts.

The Capital Markets Platform (CMP) offers a comprehensive approach to token lifecycle management, covering processes such as investor onboarding, trading, transaction processing, and corporate actions. The platform is decentralised ledger technology (DLT) agnostic and supports a range of tokenization protocols, allowing for integration with ComposerX's other platforms as well as with existing systems.

"We're excited to launch the ComposerX suite, which provides firms with the tools they need to usher in a new era of institutional DeFi," said Nadine Chakar, Global Head of DTCC Digital Assets. "This is a milestone in DTCC's journey to lead the industry toward the development of a digital financial markets ecosystem, where digital assets are treated with the same care afforded to traditional securities."

The ComposerX Factory functions as a tokenization engine with advanced data management features. It supports various tokenization protocols and allows for the creation of "self-describing" smart tokens, which contain reliable and verifiable data necessary for automating business processes. This feature enhances the discovery and automation capabilities of financial transactions.

In addition, ComposerX LedgerScan is designed to provide an overarching view of token activity across networks, enabling firms to track and manage tokens efficiently. It aims to deliver near real-time data transparency by integrating with existing accounting and custodial systems, therefore assisting institutions in bridging traditional and digital infrastructures.

"We look forward to continuing our work with the industry to build an open, secure and scalable financial markets infrastructure for the digital economy," added Chakar.

The ComposerX suite leverages patented Compliance Aware Token Framework (CATF) technology, ensuring real-time enforcement of regulatory rules. This capability aids clients in complying with complex, multi-jurisdictional regulatory environments, improving the regulation of asset tokenization.

DTCC plans further enhancements to ComposerX throughout 2025, including additional features for the ComposerX Factory to enable greater composability of financial processes. The company continues to focus on building a digital financial market infrastructure collaboratively with its stakeholders.
