Hyland appoints Jitesh S. Ghai as new President & CEO
Intelligent content solutions provider, Hyland, has announced the appointment of Jitesh S. Ghai as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Ghai, who has over twenty years of technical and business experience, will formally begin his new role on 20th May 2024.
Ghai previously served as the Chief Product Officer at Informatica Inc., where he significantly contributed to advancements in cloud, data, and AI technologies. He was part of the key leadership team that transformed Informatica into a cloud leader and was responsible for product innovations that solidified the company's recognition as an enterprise leader in cloud data management.
His role at Informatica also encompassed leading a team of over 2,000 members in the organisation's global product division - an experience that will prove critical as he leads Hyland's drive towards next-generation, cloud-based, and AI-driven solutions.
The mantle of leadership at Hyland passes to Ghai from Bill Priemer, who is set to retire after a commendable 27-year tenure with the company, including the last 11 years as its CEO. Nonetheless, Priemer will maintain involvement with the company through a position on the Hyland Board of Directors.
Ghai expressed his excitement and honour at being selected to lead the next chapter for Hyland, both for its employees and stakeholders globally. He said, "I congratulate Bill on his successes at Hyland, and my goal is to build upon the foundation he's established, drive our innovative culture forward and to further cement our position as the industry leader in intelligent content solutions. We are just getting started, and our Hyland team members and stakeholders can be excited about what our future holds."
Priemer joined Hyland in 1997, at a time when it was considerably smaller, with 30 employees and $7 million in annual revenue. Under Priemer's leadership, Hyland grew substantially, both through organic growth and through 11 acquisitions. Today, Hyland has thousands of employees globally, an annual revenue of over $1 billion and a customer base of more than 14,000.
Priemer says, "It's been an honour and privilege to be a part of Hyland's growth into a global leader in our industry. I'm proud of the accomplishments of all Hylanders and thankful for our time together. I'm supremely confident in Jitesh and Hyland's global team and know they will carry on the company's rich tradition of success."
Seth Boro, managing partner at Thoma Bravo, Hyland's majority owner, also commented on the leadership transition. He congratulated Priemer on his career at Hyland and the growth he had overseen, adding, "After an extensive search, the Hyland board believes Jitesh brings the innovative vision and leadership necessary to accelerate the company to achieve even greater heights."
