FPT Software, in a groundbreaking initiative, has become the first tech firm in Vietnam to conduct carbon reporting. The IT giant has taken a significant stride towards its mission of delivering eco-friendly technologies worldwide by launching the new carbon accounting initiative across its global network in partnership with FPT Information System. This project echoes FPT Software's aspiration to become Net-Zero and supports Vietnam in accomplishing its NDC objectives by 2030.
Focused on developing green technology, FPT Software has ventured into a comprehensive carbon accounting project. In a collaborative initiative with the FPT Information System, the project aims for complete transparency and conforms to international standards. FPT Information Systems' VertZro will underpin the carbon auditing solution, supporting the project by providing environmental data collection, calculation, management, emission reporting, and progress monitoring.
Bringing the best of AI and cutting-edge data technologies, the carbon accounting project is expected to be completed within a span of 6 months. The project will initially be piloted in some of the key markets for FPT Software, including Vietnam, Japan, and Slovakia. Its execution will extend to mass adoption in 30 other countries and territories.
FPT Information System's contribution will not just stop at collaborating on the project. It will also take responsibility for providing scenario modelling and future forecasting. In addition, it will craft strategic plans to offset greenhouse gas emissions for FPT Software based on individual markets and time frames.
