A10 Networks wins dual security awards at Interop Tokyo 2025
A10 Networks has received Special Prizes in two categories at the Best of Show Award held at Interop Tokyo 2025.
The awards were bestowed in the Security (for AI) category for the "A10 Defend AI Firewall – Thunder 1060S-AI" and in the Security (High Performance) category for the "Web API Security – ThreatX by A10 Networks".
The Best of Show Award is a significant recognition given at one of Japan's largest internet technology exhibitions, where a panel of IT industry experts evaluates new products submitted by exhibitors. The awards acknowledge technological contributions in the context of rapidly evolving security and integration needs across digital infrastructure.
Security for AI recognised
In the Security (for AI) category, the "A10 Defend AI Firewall – Thunder 1060S-AI" was acknowledged. As large language models (LLMs) become more widely adopted, all natural language input is effectively treated as user input, presenting new vulnerabilities that cannot be entirely addressed by LLMs alone. The Thunder 1060S-AI addresses this by monitoring input and output exchanges at the interface between users and LLMs, aiming to prevent attacks on the LLM, unintended content leakage, and the exposure of confidential data. It incorporates a low-latency AI-Engine, which can be customised to enforce organisational policies and safeguard sensitive data, supporting a secure environment for LLM usage.
The jury commented on the reasoning for the award:
The Special Prize is awarded for the ambitious vision of creating a hardware-based solution that sits between the user and generative AI to inspect data inputs and outputs. The award also recognizes the significance of its global debut at Interop Tokyo, and the impactful presentation delivered alongside the company's lead AI engineer from its headquarters.
High performance API security noted
The "Web API Security – ThreatX by A10 Networks" was recognised in the Security (High Performance) category. APIs are integral to external integration and data access but are increasingly targeted by attackers who can blend into legitimate communications, gather information, and conceal their activities. ThreatX, a cloud-native API security platform, provides continuous tracking and analytic capabilities to detect and prevent such attacks, protecting businesses from data breaches and misuse.
The jury noted:
We commend this solution for its Japanese debut at Interop Tokyo 2025. Although it is too early to fully evaluate its effectiveness due to the challenges of attribution tracking, we see great potential. We are pleased to award the Interop Tokyo 2025 Best of Show Award Special Prize with high hopes for its future success.
The recognition for both products comes as APIs and AI-driven technologies continue to underpin business processes and applications, raising the stakes for resilient security solutions. The panel's remarks highlighted both the vision and expectations attached to these products.
Further demonstrations and developments
In addition to the award-winning products, A10 Networks is also demonstrating the "A10 Defend DDoS Mitigator, Thunder 1060S-AI" at Interop Tokyo 2025, which was finalist-nominated and features the AI-Engine. Live demonstrations are showcasing its Zero-day Attack Protection Response (ZAPR) and A10 Predictive Performance functions, which are aimed at predicting failures.
Other technology being demonstrated by A10 Networks at the exhibition's ShowNet includes the Thunder series, offering DDoS attack detection and mitigation alongside CGNAT functionality. These demonstrations reflect ongoing developments in the protection of both AI and cloud-native infrastructure.
The Interop Tokyo Best of Show Awards serve to identify and highlight products which address current challenges in IT security, including those arising from the adoption of new technologies such as generative AI and increased API usage. A10 Networks' awards acknowledge current industry concerns and mark the reception of its new solutions among IT professionals in Japan and further afield.
