Flexxon's FxAdv II microSD cards secure Raspberry Pi certification
Tue, 9th Apr 2024

The worldwide operator in industrial memory solutions, Flexxon, has announced that its FxAdv II range of microSD flash cards has successfully received certification from Raspberry Pi. As a result, Flexxon's FxAdv II has been added to Raspberry Pi 4's Approved Vendor List (AVL). Offering industrial-grade reliability, secure usage and rapid data transfers, the FxAdv II series is now globally available, promising to cater to the unique memory storage needs of users worldwide.

Camellia Chan, Co-Founder and CEO of Flexxon, expressed her gratification, stating, "Certification from Raspberry Pi echoes our long-standing commitment to developing a diverse range of highly effective storage solutions anchored on the principles of reliability, performance, and ease of use. We are pleased to be able to bring this product to market. I'd also like to express my appreciation to our partner, BCD Atlantik, for the smooth facilitation of the certification process."

Designed to effectively serve Raspberry Pi projects, the FxAdv II microSD cards ensure seamless functionality, plug-and-play compatibility, and top-tier performance within the Raspberry Pi ecosystem. The cards endeavour to enhance users' Raspberry Pi experience by facilitating high input/output operations per second (IOPS) and power loss protection. They are compatible with embedded applications, further adding to their appeal and functionality.

The FxAdv II series excelled in rigorous test conditions before achieving certification. Subjected to over 19,700 power outages and running continually for an average of 3.5 million seconds, the cards proved to be up to standard for use with Raspberry Pi computers. Also, customised image loading, automated stress test scripts, and a local website accessibility check via Google Puppeteer automation were part of the testing protocol.

Expected to surpass Raspberry Pi's stringent requirements, the FxAdv II microSD cards deliver superior random performance for small data writes, offering effective scattered data handling. Their Random Read Performance surpasses 3,500 IOPS, and Random Write Performance exceeds 1,500 IOPS, going over and beyond Raspberry Pi's expectations of 2,000 and 500 IOPS, respectively. These impressively optimised capabilities promote overall efficiency, data reliability and user experience, aspects vital for industrial applications.

In addition, the FxAdv II cards are versatile enough for deployment across various industrial applications such as process automation, monitoring and control systems, edge computing, and embedded IoT solutions. Despite challenging environments, these cards ensure robust performance and reliability.

The Raspberry Pi-certified microSD range is available to users in capacities from 32 GB to 256 GB and is priced between USD $25 and USD $80. Flexxon's FxAdv II can be purchased through authorised worldwide distributors, resellers, Flexxon's eStore, and BCD Atlantik.

Flexxon's achievement of certification from Raspberry Pi for its FxAdv II microSD flash cards marks a significant milestone in providing industrial-grade memory solutions to a global audience. With a commitment to reliability, performance, and ease of use, Flexxon's FxAdv II series promises to enhance the storage capabilities of Raspberry Pi 4 users worldwide.
