DigiCert appoints Lakshmi Hanspal as Chief Trust Officer

DigiCert has announced the appointment of Lakshmi Hanspal as its new Chief Trust Officer.

Hanspal will operate from the company's Sunnyvale office and will report to Chief Executive Officer Amit Sinha. Previously, she served as Global Chief Information Security Officer for Amazon Devices and Services, where she directed security strategy and operations for a range of widely used connected devices. Her career includes senior roles at Box and SAP Ariba, as well as cybersecurity leadership positions at Bank of America and PayPal.

Amit Sinha commented on the new appointment, "Lakshmi is an exceptionally experienced leader with a strong track record for building and leading trust initiatives. She will be a great addition to our team and will help further strengthen our position as the clear leader in digital trust."

In her new role at DigiCert, Hanspal will focus on enhancing trust strategies such as digital identity, public key infrastructure (PKI), and secure communications, which are critical in today's rapidly changing digital environment. She is recognised as an advocate for digital trust and cybersecurity and has been involved as a strategic advisor and board member for various organisations addressing security standards and governance frameworks.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Hanspal stated, "I am thrilled to join DigiCert, a company at the forefront of building the infrastructure for digital trust. I particularly look forward to applying my experience in cybersecurity and operations to help our customers protect their digital way of life."

Hanspal holds a master's degree in computer science and actively contributes to the cybersecurity community, frequently addressing topics related to trust, diversity, and innovation in the sector.
