Denodo unveils Agora, a cloud solution to transform data management

Fri, 25th Oct 2024

Denodo has announced the launch of Agora, a new cloud-based solution intended to transform data management for global organisations.

Agora is a cloud-based software solution that eliminates the need for IT teams to manage infrastructure, enabling them to concentrate on high-value projects while maintaining data security and governance. This fully managed service allows organisations to focus on deriving value from their data by reducing operational complexities and increasing agility.

The solution offers the trusted data integration, virtualisation, and real-time data access capabilities associated with Denodo but with the significant advantage of Denodo managing the infrastructure. With the introduction of Agora, organisations can offload infrastructure management and platform operations to Denodo. This accelerates data access for end users and saves time on daily tasks, allowing businesses to achieve more of their strategic objectives in a dynamic market environment.

Alberto Pan, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at Denodo, stated, "With Agora, our customers can choose their preferred deployment method while entrusting Denodo to manage critical aspects of the platform. This fully managed, cloud-based solution empowers organisations to streamline their data management processes, granting them the flexibility and agility needed to excel in today's fast-paced business landscape."

Agora tackles the difficulties that organisations face in accessing necessary data swiftly and efficiently. Traditional data management systems, which require installation and maintenance by each organisation, often hinder decision-making. Agora offers a managed deployment option for Denodo's platform, providing flexibility and simplified operations. This enables organisations to focus on real-time insights and differentiation, while Denodo oversees essential platform components.

The Agora architecture comprises two distinct planes - a Control plane and an Execution plane. This setup facilitates deployment flexibility without compromising the customer's ownership of their data and settings. Users can choose to manage their deployment environment or allow Denodo to do so for greater ease.

Agora allows for maximum versatility and simplicity in installation, with one-click templates enabling quick provisioning of various deployment options. This ranges from basic evaluation servers to complex enterprise setups, allowing systems to scale up or down easily. The solution's consumption-based licensing model ensures cost-efficient scalability, aligning licensing expenses with actual usage of the Denodo Platform.

Paul Zajdel, Vice President and General Manager for Data and Analytics at CDW, said, "Agora is going to be a great new option for our joint customers who need their interactions with data to be smooth, fast, and straightforward. Because Agora handles the backend heavy lifting, it enables a wide range of users to manage data with ease, spontaneity, and creativity."

George Gilbert, an analyst at SiliconAngle, commented, "We are glad to see the release of the Agora platform to help organisations transform and modernise data management without yet another layer of self-managed infrastructure stress. Agora allows organisations to focus on supporting more and varied use cases, small and large. With Agora, organisations can focus on turning data strings to things."

Denodo plans to make Agora available across several marketplaces, in the following order of availability: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Alibaba.
