Convera & JustLogin add cross-border payroll payments

Convera and JustLogin have partnered to add cross-border payroll and business payments to the JustLogin HR platform for companies operating across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Under the arrangement, JustLogin customers can initiate payroll and employee-related payments in up to 16 currencies from within the HR system, while Convera handles cross-border payment processing. Payment activity starts inside the JustLogin workflow, with transaction data shared with Convera when a payment is made and status updates returned to the dashboard.
This move more closely links payroll administration with international payments at a time when companies in Southeast Asia manage staff across several markets. Businesses expanding in the region often have to navigate different currencies, domestic payment rails, and local regulatory requirements, complicating salary payments and supplier transfers.
Convera acts as the licensed payment processor in the partnership and carries out customer onboarding and know-your-customer checks. It operates under the oversight of more than 60 regulators worldwide.
The integration is available to JustLogin customers in Singapore and supported Southeast Asian markets. It also uses selected domestic fast-payment rails, including Singapore's FAST, Malaysia's DuitNow, and the Philippines' InstaPay, to move salary payments across the region.
Regional demand
The companies are targeting a growing market as employers spread operations across borders. Convera cited an estimate that Southeast Asia's business-to-business payments market was worth about USD $44.5 billion in 2024 and could exceed USD $105 billion by 2033.
That growth has increased interest in systems that combine operational software with financial services. In payroll, HR teams and finance departments want better visibility into payment status without having to move between separate platforms.
Patrick Gauthier, Group Chief Executive Officer of Convera, outlined the company's view of the partnership.
"Growing companies should not have to choose between regional expansion and payroll confidence. By embedding Convera's global payments capabilities directly into JustLogin's HR platform, we're making it easier for businesses to hire, pay and scale across Southeast Asia with greater speed, visibility and control. This partnership reflects a broader shift we're seeing in the market, as payments become more deeply embedded into the platforms businesses already use to run their operations," said Gauthier.
Singapore-based JustLogin has operated for 26 years and provides cloud-based HR software. The partnership adds a payments feature that addresses one of the more difficult parts of regional hiring: moving funds accurately and on time to employees in different jurisdictions.
For employers, payroll errors or delays can create not only extra administrative work but also reputational risk with staff. Cross-border salary payments add another layer of complexity because settlement times, compliance checks, and local banking infrastructure differ from one market to another.
Embedded payments
The deal reflects a wider push by payments groups to embed their services in software platforms used for day-to-day business functions. Rather than asking customers to run payroll in one system and then log into a separate banking or payments portal, providers are trying to keep the process within a single workflow.
In this model, HR and finance teams can start the payment process in the software they already use, while the payments specialist manages compliance, currency handling, and settlement in the background. Users should gain visibility over payment progress without disrupting existing internal processes.
KC Kwa, Chief Executive Officer of JustLogin, said the service was intended to meet customer needs as businesses expand across borders.
"As our customers expand across markets, payroll and payments have become a critical part of both employee experience and corporate reputation. In an environment marked by regulatory change and currency volatility, this partnership provides the governance, resilience, and confidence our customers need to keep payroll compliant, accurate, and seamless - without compromising trust," said Kwa.
Convera describes itself as a commercial payments company with a network spanning more than 140 currencies and 200 countries and territories. In Southeast Asia, where employers are increasingly building distributed workforces, adding payment functions to HR software points to a closer overlap between workforce management and financial infrastructure.
