Yamaha Motor adopts Informatica MDM to unify global data flows
Yamaha Motor is set to implement Informatica's Master Data Management (MDM) solution to unify and manage data across its global operations.
The company faced long-standing challenges related to complex and siloed data, with manufacturing and business operations spanning different locations worldwide. Its global enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems required harmonisation and standardisation of data, complicated by inconsistencies in regional data and the lack of shared master data across group companies' ERP and business systems.
Data management challenges
According to Yamaha Motor, the inability to efficiently share master data between group companies' information systems has impeded operational efficiency. To address these challenges, Yamaha Motor will use Informatica's multidomain MDM software-as-a-service solution, which incorporates the company's CLAIRE AI engine. The goal is to centralise, streamline, and automate data management across departments and territories, providing a unified and comprehensive view of business data.
The implementation is expected to enable Yamaha Motor to increase productivity, accelerate the discovery of data, and improve data quality and consistency, helping deliver reliable insights for business use.

MDM implementation
The adoption of Informatica's cloud-based multidomain MDM platform is part of Yamaha Motor's broader digital transformation strategy. By centralising data management with an AI-enabled solution, the company aims to facilitate greater integration and integrity of information across its business units.
The platform's capabilities enable automated processing and management of data assets across multiple domains and departments, providing Yamaha Motor with a more contextual and complete picture of its operations. The company expects this will help support decision-making and planning, while also providing the foundation for future business growth.
Sector context
Organisations across various industries are increasingly turning to cloud-based, AI-powered data management solutions to address the challenges posed by rapidly expanding and complex data landscapes. Harmonising data standards and creating unified access are seen as necessary steps for organisations looking to improve operational efficiency and business agility.
Yamaha Motor's selection of Informatica's MDM platform is aligned with these trends, aiming to overcome barriers caused by disparate data sources and siloed information systems within global operations.
