Vudoo, the Melbourne-based content commerce and in-stream checkout pioneer, has appointed Peter Manten as its new Managing Director for Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region. Manten, who boasts over two decades of media management and senior sales experience, will be responsible for developing and executing business strategies to drive market growth.
Manten's key responsibilities at Vudoo will include formulating and executing business strategies for market expansion, building and managing relationships with key stakeholders, and maintaining excellent customer service to current Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) customers. His role also extends to increasing Vudoo's customer base in Southeast Asia.
Before joining Vudoo, Manten held several significant positions in the media industry. He served as the Regional Head of Sales for Spotify Australia and New Zealand, the Digital Strategy & Commercial Director ANZ for Bauer Media, the National Head of Digital Sales at Network 10, and as the Head of Interactive Sales at ITV UK.
Vudoo has strong global ties, with partners ranging from publishers such as News Corp, Are Media, and New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME), to clients like Forever New, S&P Global, and Kohler. Vudoo has also facilitated executions in campaigns across leading brands like Hilton, Samsung, Mot & Chandon, Burberry, Dyson, Lexus, Hotel Clicquot, and Sunday Riley.
Vudoo's CEO, Nick Morgan, expressed his keen anticipation for Manten's appointment, stating, "Peter's balance of traditional publishing and big tech experience provides us with insights needed to improve our customer service. His proven commercial leadership will be invaluable as we grow our business and expand into new markets."
Manten reciprocated his excitement, saying "To be a part of a truly global aspiring company at this stage of its life cycle is a hugely appealing and rare opportunity. Vudoo's progressive capabilities in the ever-expanding content commerce, retail media, and VOD/CTV sectors provide me a promising platform to shape a winning, highly engaged sales unit while establishing Vudoo's business DNA across APAC."
Manten's appointment comes shortly after Vudoo announced Nathalie Curtis-Lethbridge, a globally renowned CTV pioneer, as their Global Chief Growth Officer and Managing Director for EMEA and North America. Additionally, Vudoo also hired Manuela Cadd as Head of Strategic Business Partnerships.
Vudoo's expansion into the international market coincides with the rapid growth of content commerce and a surge in demand for its ground-breaking technology. This is particularly significant with the boom of retail media, predicted to be worth over US$160 billion by 2027.
