Saviynt appoints Steve Blacklock to lead global partner strategy

Saviynt has named Steve Blacklock as Senior Vice President of Global Partners and Channel Chief as part of its strategy to increase focus on partner relationships and expand its global ecosystem.

Blacklock joins the company following his most recent position as Vice President of North American Partner Sales at Palo Alto Networks, where he managed go-to-market efforts with global systems integrators, managed security service providers, cloud vendors, and value-added resellers. His career spans more than three decades in the technology sector, with leadership roles focused on strategic alliances and business development.

At Saviynt, Blacklock will take responsibility for all operations of the global partner organisation, with his role including the development and management of new and existing alliance partnerships, as well as driving go-to-market initiatives in collaboration with both the partner network and internal sales teams. The appointment comes as the company pursues a 'partner first' approach to growth.

Leadership perspectives

According to Todd Rotger, Chief Revenue Officer at Saviynt, Blacklock's background aligns with the company's goals as it enters a new stage of development. Rotger stated,

Career history

Before joining Palo Alto Networks, Blacklock held executive leadership roles that included Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Icertis, where he managed alliances with technology giants Microsoft and SAP. At Citrix, as Vice President of Global Strategic Alliances, he played a role in transitioning the company towards cloud services and subscription-based models. Additionally, his tenure at Cisco involved overseeing the global partnership with HP, valued in the billions, and contributing to the launch of the VCE joint venture alongside EMC and VMware.

Blacklock holds a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He currently resides in Pleasanton, California.

Strategic direction

Commenting on his new role, Blacklock emphasised the importance of collaboration and expansion of the partner ecosystem. He said,
