Traceable AI partners with AWS to boost API security deployment

Fri, 6th Sep 2024

Traceable AI has entered a Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enhance the accessibility and integration of its API security platform on AWS. This move aims to address the rising threat of API-based attacks in cloud-native environments by offering a more robust and comprehensive security solution.

The collaboration allows AWS customers to seamlessly purchase, deploy, and scale Traceable's context-driven API security platform directly through the AWS Marketplace. As organisations accelerate their expansion of API ecosystems, the need for effective security measures grows. Traditional security approaches have often proven inadequate against sophisticated, behaviour-based API attacks, leaving companies with limited visibility and protection.

Integrating Traceable's API security platform with AWS's cloud infrastructure will offer real-time API discovery, posture management, and advanced attack detection and prevention. These capabilities are crucial for protecting against complex behavioural threats, minimising the risk of data breaches and service disruptions. This integration maintains speed and performance while ensuring end-to-end API security in cloud-native environments.

"API attacks have evolved into a critical business risk, threatening innovation and customer trust," said Jyoti Bansal, CEO and Co-founder of Traceable. "Our strategic collaboration with AWS addresses this threat head-on, arriving as organisations rapidly scale their API ecosystems. By integrating Traceable's API security platform onto AWS's global cloud infrastructure, we empower businesses worldwide to innovate securely. This collaboration makes enterprise-grade API security accessible and actionable for companies of all sizes, accelerating their digital initiatives while safeguarding their most valuable assets."

Several key benefits stem from this collaboration. Organisations gain comprehensive visibility into their API landscape and threat environment by leveraging AWS's extensive cloud infrastructure and Traceable's advanced API security capabilities. This visibility supports proactive security, informed decision-making, and the effective detection of nuanced attack patterns.

The integration with AWS includes Amazon CloudFront via Lambda@Edge, enabling real-time bot and API attack detection and protection. This setup enhances the security of content delivered through Amazon CloudFront, providing faster response times and reduced latency in identifying and mitigating threats. Additionally, customers can easily test and implement Traceable's bot protection with minimal engineering effort, facilitating the adoption of advanced security measures for their Amazon CloudFront distributions.

Traceable's enhanced integration with AWS WAF adds advanced blocking capabilities, custom rules, and policies specifically designed to combat complex API attacks. This multi-layered defence enhances protection against a broad range of API vulnerabilities and exploits that typically evade traditional security measures.

Traceable offers various pricing models to suit different business needs, allowing companies to manage their security costs effectively while obtaining comprehensive API protection. The procurement and deployment process is simplified through AWS Marketplace, where customers can easily purchase and set up Traceable's platform. Existing AWS credits can also be used for purchasing Traceable's API security platform, allowing efficient budget allocation towards enhancing API protection.

This strategic collaboration coincides with a period of significant growth for Traceable, which has reported a 300% year-over-year increase in revenue. The partnership with AWS is expected to further accelerate Traceable's global expansion, particularly in the EMEA and APJ regions.
