SNS unveils major update to NDI plug-in at IBC2024

Today

Studio Network Solutions (SNS) has announced a significant update to its NDI plug-in for Vizrt NRS systems during this year's International Broadcasting Convention (IBC2024). This latest update aims to streamline media production processes for content creators, offering a smoother workflow from capture to playout in both live and post-production environments.

The enhanced NDI plug-in introduced by SNS includes several new features designed to improve efficiency and flexibility for NRS users. Among the most notable additions are NDI 6 compatibility, active recording previews, the ability to playout h.264 and SpeedHQ media formats directly from NRS, improved filtering options, and user-friendly controls. The updated plug-in also integrates with TriCaster systems, enabling media to be dispatched from NRS to TriCaster DDR1-4 and GFX1-2.

Ryan Stoutenborough, president at SNS, said, "In fast-paced live production environments, the flexibility to record, edit, and stream NDI directly from shared storage can be a game changer for media teams. With the latest update to the NDI plug-in, NRS users can leverage an even more powerful and versatile NDI workflow, enabling creative teams to work faster and meet tight deadlines from anywhere in the world."

Liam Hayter, product manager at Vizrt, highlighted the transformative potential of the Vizrt NRS shared storage system in enhancing NDI workflows for broadcasters and post-production teams. "Collaboration is key when it comes to creative content, and the updates to Vizrt NRS make collaboration incredibly easy from capture to playout. We're excited to see how our users leverage this powerful tool to push the boundaries of content creation," Hayter remarked.

The NRS system includes a suite of software tools geared toward assisting creative teams in organising and managing their NDI feeds efficiently. These tools offer features such as tagging, direct media transfers to TriCaster, automating file transfers and cloud backups, and enabling remote workflows.

At the SNS and Vizrt stands, IBC2024 attendees can experience the updated NDI-enabled workflow firsthand. Additionally, online workflow demonstrations can be scheduled for those unable to attend the convention.

Studio Network Solutions (SNS) latest update to the NDI plug-in for Vizrt NRS systems demonstrates a commitment to enhancing media production workflows, particularly for content creators working in live and post-production environments. The updated plug-in supports seamless collaboration and integration with existing systems like TriCaster and new features to increase efficiency and flexibility.

The advancements presented at IBC2024 underscore the evolving landscape of media production technology, providing users with more robust tools for managing their NDI feeds and creative workflows.
