Snowflake unveils AI platform to enhance enterprise data use

Today

Snowflake has announced the release of Snowflake Intelligence, a new platform aimed at enhancing data interaction for enterprises.

Snowflake Intelligence will allow business users to create data agents capable of analysing, summarising, and taking action based on their enterprise data. Utilising natural language processing, the platform seeks to streamline how users pose business questions and receive data-driven insights from a encompassing platform.

Baris Gultekin, Head of AI at Snowflake, stated, "With Snowflake Intelligence, teams can easily create data agents that allow business users to talk to their enterprise data using natural language, and then analyze, summarize, and take action on those results from one unified platform. Snowflake Intelligence represents the next step in Snowflake's AI journey, further enabling teams to easily, and safely, advance their businesses with data-driven insights they can act on to deliver measurable impact."

The platform is designed to address challenges faced by enterprises, such as fragmented data governance and infrastructure silos between unstructured and structured data formats. Snowflake Intelligence offers a solution by integrating various data systems under a singular governance framework. This enables users to work without needing extensive technical expertise, empowering them to utilise data through a simplified interface that does not require writing code to interact with the data.

Snowflake Intelligence also utilises Snowflake's AI service, the Snowflake Cortex AI. This service offers a range of AI features, including generative AI functionalities and structured data querying capabilities, enhancing the ability of teams to process and manage data efficiently.

The platform incorporates the Snowflake Horizon Catalog, providing enterprise-grade security, privacy, and collaboration tools. This integration is compatible with open industry standards, allowing users to secure their data across different cloud platforms and geographical regions.

Through these features, businesses are expected to gain improvements in decision tracking and the ability to measure outcomes from strategic decisions by leveraging the full potential of their data.
