Silent Push has appointed Thomas Bain as chief marketing officer, adding a senior executive to the cyber security company's leadership team.

Bain will oversee global marketing, branding and go-to-market efforts as Silent Push looks to strengthen its position in pre-emptive cyber defence.

He joins after holding senior marketing roles at several cyber security companies, including chief marketing officer at VulnCheck, and positions at Finite State, Cyware Labs, RiskRecon and Morphisec.

Bain brings more than 20 years of marketing leadership experience, with a background in helping cyber security suppliers expand their commercial reach and support international growth.

Founder and chief executive Ken Bagnall said the hire marks the company's next phase.

"As we enter our next stage of growth, we're happy to welcome Tom and the expertise he brings in scaling high-growth companies," Bagnall said.

"Tom has demonstrated he can execute against strategic initiatives at scale, and his leadership is key to solidifying our market position and elevating our brand globally."

The appointment was also welcomed by investor Ten Eleven Ventures, which described the hire as important to Silent Push's market ambitions.

"Tom's experience in scaling cybersecurity go-to-market motion fits squarely into Silent Push's quest to define the category of preemptive cyber defense," said Dave Palmer, partner at Ten Eleven Ventures.

"Tom's supported multiple portfolio companies at Ten Eleven in his career, and we're thrilled he's on board to lead Silent Push's marketing function."

Career background

Before joining Silent Push, Bain worked at VulnCheck, which focuses on exploit intelligence. Earlier, he held a role at RiskRecon before the business was acquired by Mastercard.

He also advises several cyber security and artificial intelligence start-ups. Outside executive roles, Bain has worked as a podcaster and blogger in the sector.

His appointment comes as cyber security vendors compete for share in areas such as threat intelligence, risk detection and earlier attack identification. Marketing leadership has become a more prominent function as companies try to shape how buyers and security teams categorise newer products.

Silent Push describes itself as a pre-emptive cyber defence company. Its platform provides real-time visibility into emerging threat infrastructure and is also available through an application programming interface for integration with other security tools.

Its customers include large enterprises and government agencies, and it also offers a free community edition of its product.

Company momentum

Silent Push highlighted recent recognition and product development alongside the executive appointment, including a place on Fast Company's list of the World's Most Innovative Companies of 2026.

The company also recently introduced Traffic Origin, a product designed to reveal the upstream origin of adversaries on the internet and counter efforts to obscure identity.

Bain outlined his view of the company's market position and the message he wants to take to security leaders.

"Silent Push has built a category-defining platform that is shifting the cybersecurity market to rethink cyber defense when it comes to the economy, national security and humans. My goal is to make preemptive cyber defense synonymous with Silent Push for CISOs, and an operational must-have for every global cyber team," Bain said.

"The concept of preemptive cyber has not truly coalesced into reality until now with Silent Push, where teams gain a multi-faceted, intelligence-led advantage vs attackers to detect attack patterns early, often and with actionable accuracy that disrupts their opportunity to disrupt. I am more than excited to work with this dynamic team."

Another industry figure who has worked with Bain also welcomed the move.

"Having worked with Tom on multiple initiatives designed to bring authentic transparent discussions to the C-level, his approach to educating the market with insights, fun and useful dialogue is exceptional," said Neil Robinson, CISO at Virgin Money.

"I am excited to see his work fully on display at Silent Push, and to work with him on educating the market with useful, practitioner-based insights and new approaches on eliminating emerging cyber threats."
