Rimini Street a global provider of end-to-end enterprise software support, products and services, has announced its engagement with Japanese photonics company, santec, delivering strategic guidance and services during a major corporate restructuring. Rimini Consult for SAP will support the division of santec, a leading manufacturer of tunable lasers and optical components based in Japan, into four separate corporations.
santec has been a Rimini Support for SAP client since 2018. The company's significant growth, unveiling new opportunities in the wide-ranging telecommunications sector with the advent of 5G, cloud adoption and the uptake of hybrid work, has motivated its management to move towards greater agility and efficiency, the company said. To streamline its functions, santec has opted for splitting its operations.
The maturation of 5G, increasing cloud adoption, and the rise of hybrid work have driven skyrocketing use of telecommunications services, yielding significant growth for santec.
With SAP software deeply rooted in all areas of the business, executing this strategic decision presented the IT team at santec with the task of reorganising the deployment of its services across the new corporations on a tight timeline. Considering its successful history with Rimini Street and the challenges posed by the reorganisation, santec decided against partnering with SAP for this project, choosing instead to entrust it to Rimini Street as a proven partner.
