Michael Freeman appointed as Linesight's Malaysia lead

Yesterday

Michael Freeman has been appointed as the new Country Lead for Malaysia by global construction consultancy Linesight.

Freeman has over 15 years of senior project management and cost management experience in the construction and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) sectors. His expertise has been honed through managing large-scale construction projects across various sectors including infrastructure, technology, finance, hospitality, and commercial industries. Most recently, he served as Project Director for major data centre projects while based in Linesight's Taiwan office.

The appointment comes as Southeast Asia continues to be a strategic growth region for Linesight. Companies in mission-critical sectors like data centres, life sciences, and semiconductors are increasingly looking towards Malaysia as a key market due to its substantial investment potential. Freeman's new role will involve driving the consultancy's growth ambitions in Malaysia across these critical sectors.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Freeman stated, "I'm thrilled to be returning to South East Asia, having delivered projects previously in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Malaysia is on the cusp of huge construction growth and I'm excited to leverage my knowledge and experience with clients and partners to deliver projects in country."

In this position, Freeman will report directly to Scott Halyday, Regional Director for South East Asia. Halyday shared his confidence in Freeman's capabilities, "Michael brings a wealth of experience to the role and is well positioned to spearhead our growth ambitions for Malaysia. Under Michael's leadership, Linesight will continue to deepen its local presence in Malaysia, supporting clients to address the construction investment demands of a thriving region."
