Leaseweb, a front-running cloud services and hosting firm, is celebrating its ten-year anniversary in Singapore, reaffirming its commitment to fostering the city's burgeoning green data centre progression and empowering customer innovation. Over the past decade, Leaseweb has furnished the vital infrastructure powering mission-critical platforms, applications, and IT systems for numerous customers throughout the Asia Pacific (APAC), including LiquidM, Remerge GmbH, and Uptrends.
In honour of this significant ten-year landmark, Leaseweb APAC will henceforth be known as Leaseweb Singapore, a nod to the considerable organic growth achieved in the market. The company foresees the country's data centre growth over the coming years will be distinguished by a swift digitalisation of industries, a firm commitment to technological innovation, and a bolstered commitment to sustainability.
Pieter Kraan, Managing Director of Leaseweb Singapore, shared his thoughts on this milestone. He said, "As Leaseweb celebrates ten years in the garden city, I am proud of our incredible achievements and growth."
"Leaseweb Asia Pacific was the gateway to expanding further into Asia and Oceania and has been the stronghold of our presence in the region for the past decade. During these years, we have grown our operations rapidly and added Leaseweb Australia, Hong Kong and Japan as independent entities in the Asia Pacific region."
Anticipating continued success for the rebranded Leaseweb Singapore, Kraan continued, "I am proud to announce our new company name, Leaseweb Singapore Pte Ltd. The stories of our customers are a testament to the incredible accomplishments of our team in Singapore and I look forward to achieving even more in the coming years with this wonderful group of talented people."
Earlier this year, Leaseweb Singapore reported a 300% expansion in revenue and a 200% growth in employee numbers in the last 24 months. This boost in revenue has manifested across multiple sectors, with customers from the gaming, adtech, martech, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) spheres extending their presence in the market.
Leaseweb's milestone in Singapore comes amidst a broader expansion in the Asia Pacific region. In late 2022, Leaseweb revealed its third data centre in Singapore, together with new data centres in Tokyo and Sydney. This was followed by the opening of a fourth data centre in Singapore in April 2023, bringing the total number of data centre sites throughout the whole Asia Pacific region to ten.
Reflecting on Leaseweb's journey, Con Zwinkels, Founder and CEO of Leaseweb Global, said, "Ten years ago, Leaseweb branched out into Singapore to start a new chapter for both our customers and our company. Leaseweb APAC created a foothold for our customers in the region but also allowed us to tap into the abundant opportunities in Asia and Oceania.
"Today, we have grown tremendously and we look forward to greater success of Leaseweb Singapore," said Zwinkels.
