Latapult launches Regions Plus for advanced GIS workflows

Latapult has launched Regions Plus, a new product that expands its GIS offering for more advanced operational workflows.
Regions Plus is aimed at land development teams that need to create, manage and share project-specific geographic data in one system. The product adds editable GIS layers within the platform, allowing users to build custom project layers, share operational datasets across teams and departments, and create more consistent mapping workflows.
The launch comes as demand for GIS tools grows in sectors where site selection, land analysis and due diligence play a central role. Data centre development is one such market, with developers requiring more detailed location data and more joined-up processes as projects grow larger and more complex.
Fragmented mapping tools have often left development teams moving data between separate programs rather than working from a single source. Regions Plus is intended to address that by letting users edit layers directly in the platform and centralise project information for wider operational use.
The product also broadens data integration across Latapult's existing services. Users can upload GIS datasets while retaining attribute visibility, and connect live web services to receive updated information as conditions change.
The release is part of a wider overhaul of Latapult's product line. The software has been reorganised into three tiers intended to reflect different stages of use, from early land discovery to broader operational management.
The entry-level product, Regions, focuses on land discovery, parcel research and land analysis, and includes more than 250 integrated data layers.
Regions Plus sits in the middle of the portfolio, designed for development pipelines and land management workflows that require shared project datasets and more advanced GIS operations. At the top end, Custom Enterprise is aimed at larger operations that need tailored environments, dedicated architecture and organisation-wide data governance.
Latapult works with more than 300 businesses across industries including renewable energy, utilities, housebuilding and residential development. The new structure is intended to keep customers on one platform as their needs move from site identification to ongoing operational oversight.
Christopher Nichols, General Manager at Latapult, outlined the rationale for the launch in comments released by the company.
"AI is rapidly redefining how businesses approach research, operations, and decision-making, leading to more customized workflows across teams. With Regions Plus, we are empowering land development teams to essentially create their own GIS without needing specialized expertise," Nichols said.
He added: "Now, we can bring our long-standing industry knowledge to modern-day operations by allowing organizations to create configurable project layers and streamline their day-to-day workflows."
As land development projects become increasingly data-intensive, organisations are looking for platforms that can reduce manual GIS work while improving collaboration across teams.
The ability to manage project-specific geographic data within a single environment may help streamline decision-making and reduce the risks associated with fragmented datasets. Latapult's latest release reflects a wider industry trend towards integrated geospatial platforms that combine analysis, operational workflows and data governance in one system.
