Jan Van Tieghem has been announced as the new Director of Technical Sales Support for PPDS, an associated global provider of Philips digital signage, interactive displays, dvLED and videowalls, professional TVs, and dedicated AV software. Van Tieghem, an experienced AV engineer, has dedicated more than 15 years of his 20-year AV career to aiding the evolution, development, and success of Philips Professional Displays on a worldwide scale.
Van Tieghem started his fruitful journey with Philips in 2006, serving as System Validation Engineer. His remarkable skills and extensive knowledge have steadily flourished through several critical leadership roles, supporting PPDS's strategy to provide comprehensive solutions across various market sectors and display solutions. Past roles have encompassed Field Application Engineer (2011-2014), Customer Support Engineer Hospitality TVs (2014-2021), Functional Manager Customer Support (2021-2024), and most recently, Interim Technical Sales Support Director in the US.
In his new position, Van Tieghem will command support teams across all PPDS product ranges, from digital signage including ePaper, interactive displays, videowalls, dvLED, and professional TVs. These teams are stationed in the company’s innovation centre in Ghent, Belgium, and throughout all regions in EMEA, including Benelux, CEE, DACH, France, Iberia, Italy, the Nordics, SEE, and UK and Ireland.
As Director of Technical Sales Support, Van Tieghem will undertake key responsibilities related to bolstering B2B sales activities (both pre- and post-sales), collaborating with new and existing partners for final validation of new software releases on all product platforms, ensuring EMEA market compliance, and guiding customers in successfully delivering hands-on, live, and video training for efficient installation and project outcomes. Moreover, taking a client-centric approach, Van Tieghem and his team will also deliver dedicated support for customers for all relevant PPDS products, services, and solutions and will assist with integration for projects, defining necessary configurations, simulating, and testing customers' setups and resolving any interface or compatibility issues.
Van Tieghem expressed excitement about the new opportunity and responsibility of leading the EMEA Technical Sales Support team.
