Intel reshuffles Asia Pacific leadership to boost business growth
Intel Corporation has announced some key new appointments aimed at enhancing its business in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), as well as India. These strategic moves are part of Intel's ongoing transformation efforts.
The company has appointed Hans Chuang as General Manager for the Sales, Marketing, and Communications Group (SMG) Asia Pacific and Japan. Chuang will operate out of Taiwan and will have a comprehensive role encompassing the management of Intel's business in the APJ region. This will include driving revenue growth, capitalising on new opportunities within the local ecosystem, and bolstering existing customer and partner relationships.
Chuang studied Electrical Engineering at the University of British Columbia and also holds an MBA from McGill University. On his appointment, Chuang said: "Intel is transforming, and I am excited to lead the company's growth and innovation in APJ, one of the most diverse and fastest-growing regions for Intel. Leveraging the strength of our partners and continuing our commitment to building an open ecosystem that serves our customers in a transparent and secure manner is going to be key to our long-term success here in the APJ region."
In addition, following Intel's announcement in March declaring India as a separate region within its Sales, Marketing, and Communications (SMG) organisation, the company has named Santhosh Viswanathan as the VP and MD of the India region. The creation of this separate region within the SMG group aims to tap into the rapid growth and abundant business opportunities in India.
Viswanathan holds an engineering degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, along with a Master's degree in Business Administration. Commenting on his new role, Viswanathan said, "We see massive business opportunities and growing momentum in India. By creating a separate region, we are enabling our teams, including our strong engineering base in India, to work closely with our customers. It is a very exciting time for Intel in India, and I am thrilled to lead our business in the country."
Both Chuang and Viswanathan have extensive leadership experience within Intel and are recognised for their commitment to delivering outcomes for Intel customers. These appointments reflect Intel's strategic focus on aligning organisational structures with evolving market dynamics. By leveraging its internal leadership talent, Intel aims to enhance its responsiveness and effectiveness in addressing the unique opportunities and challenges within each region, positioning itself for sustained success in these growth markets.
