Insta360 launches AI-powered video bar designed for meetings

Yesterday

Insta360 has officially launched its first-ever video bar, Insta360 Connect, aimed at improving video conferencing for small to medium-sized meeting rooms. The product, which will be available from 17 December, promises to revolutionise hybrid meetings with advanced AI features, cutting-edge hardware, and superior audio capabilities.

First introduced at InfoComm 2024, Insta360 Connect has already garnered recognition, winning the "Best of Show 2024" award in the AV Technology category. The video bar combines dual-4K cameras, a 14-microphone array, and innovative AI functionalities to create an immersive and realistic meeting experience for both in-person and remote participants.

"Insta360 Connect is designed for businesses and professionals who need uncompromised video quality and clear communication," the company stated in its press release. The product addresses common challenges faced during remote meetings, such as poor visuals and unclear audio, offering a solution that delivers face-to-face-like interactions.

High-performance imaging and AI resolution
The Insta360 Connect features a dual-4K camera setup, including a wide-angle camera with a 1/1.3" CMOS sensor and a telephoto gimbal camera, providing unparalleled meeting visuals. With AI Resolution+, an advanced machine-learning algorithm, the device enhances image clarity and detail, allowing the speaker to appear in double resolution for improved communication.

Exceptional audio capabilities
Audio is a standout feature of the Insta360 Connect, with a 14-microphone array and a 3A audio algorithm designed to capture voices up to 33 feet away with precision. The device also incorporates adaptive noise reduction and de-reverberation technology, ensuring smooth and interruption-free communication.

The company explained: "Connect's intelligent noise reduction technology dynamically adjusts to real-time acoustic changes in the room, eliminating unwanted noise and echoes. It ensures balanced, clear audio regardless of where participants are seated."

AI-powered collaboration tools
Insta360 Connect is equipped with AI framing and tracking features to make hybrid meetings more inclusive. Group Framing automatically adjusts the camera view to ensure all participants are visible, while 8K Gallery Mode provides individual windows for up to eight participants, even in high-resolution.

The device's Speaker Tracking technology utilises sound localisation, voice recognition, and face tracking to zoom in on the active speaker, delivering an engaging and professional experience for remote attendees.

"In multi-person meetings, Connect's customised AI framing ensures everyone is included, offering a natural and inclusive view," the company added.

Versatile modes and mounting options
The device comes with various modes to streamline operations, such as Whiteboard Mode, which enhances visibility of presentation materials, and Speakerphone Mode for crystal-clear conference calls. It also includes Privacy Mode, which tilts the camera and mutes the microphone for instant privacy when needed.

To accommodate different spaces, the Insta360 Connect offers flexible mounting options, including desk, wall, and TV mounts.

Availability
The Insta360 Connect is available for purchase starting 17 December, with a suggested retail price of USD $1,999. The standard bundle includes the video bar, a desk stand, cables, a power adapter, and a remote control. Additional accessories, such as a wall mount and TV mount, are also available separately.

The launch of Insta360 Connect reflects Insta360's continued innovation in imaging and AI technology. Following its success in action cameras and webcams, the company has now expanded its expertise into the video conferencing market, aiming to redefine hybrid meeting experiences.
