GTT, an eminent global provider of managed network security services to multinational organisations, has announced the appointment of Edward Morche as Chief Executive Officer and Board Director. Morche's appointment adds tremendous depth to GTT's management, given his more than three-decade experience in the field of telecommunications. GTT, known for managing and monitoring 25% of internet traffic, plays a significant role in identifying malicious packets, considerably minimising cyber threat risks for their customers.
Morche brings to GTT a wealth of experience from leadership roles across a range of telecoms and networking businesses including Igae Communications, Teleglobe, and Global One, among others. Before joining GTT, Morche served as president of Lumen's North American Enterprise and Public Sector. During his tenure he held senior leadership roles at CenturyLink and Level 3. He has also notably held philanthropic roles, notably as a director on the Virginia Hospital Center's foundation board.
Tony Abate, GTT executive chairman of the board, extended a warm welcome to Morche stating, "We are delighted to welcome Ed as we look to a bright future as a managed network services and security provider serving global multinational enterprises. His deep industry experience, long-standing commitment to service delivery excellence, and proven track record of empowering and inspiring teams make him an ideal choice to continue to drive the company forward."
Expressing his enthusiasm for his new role, Morche states, "I am thrilled to lead the talented team at GTT and look forward to working with our employees, partners and customers in this next phase of growth. It's exciting to join an organisation with such a long-standing commitment to operational excellence, compelling market opportunity and great culture for delivering a best-in-class customer experience."
In the same announcement, GTT also extended their gratitude to the outgoing CEO Ernest Ortega, who made significant contributions during his four-year tenure. "The board would like to sincerely thank Ernie for his contributions to GTT over the past four years," states Abate. "During that time, Ernie was instrumental in transforming the company in numerous ways. He is leaving GTT well positioned for continued growth, and we wish him the best in his future endeavours."
