Google AI Ultra subscription launches at USD $249.99 per month

Today

Google has introduced Google AI Ultra, a new subscription plan providing users with access to its advanced artificial intelligence models, higher usage limits, and a range of premium features.

Google AI Ultra is now available in the United States at a price of USD $249.99 per month. First-time users can access a special offer of 50% off for the first three months. The company has stated that availability in additional countries will follow.

The subscription plan is aimed at professionals including filmmakers, developers, creatives, and users who require high-level AI capabilities. Google described the plan by stating, "If you're a filmmaker, developer, creative professional or simply demand the absolute best of Google AI with the highest level of access, the Google AI Ultra plan is built for you — think of it as your VIP pass to Google Al."

Subscribers to Google AI Ultra will receive a suite of features and tools. The plan includes enhanced access to the Gemini app, with the highest usage limits for functions such as Deep Research. Users will be able to create videos using Veo 2 and receive early access to the Veo 3 model. The company said the plan is, "designed for coding, academic research and complex creative endeavors." Google also stated, "In the coming weeks, Ultra subscribers will also get access to Deep Think in 2.5 Pro, our new enhanced reasoning mode."

Google AI Ultra provides access to Flow, an AI filmmaking tool developed for use with advanced models like Veo, Imagen, and Gemini. According to Google, "Flow enables the crafting of cinematic clips, scenes and cohesive narratives with intuitive prompting." Ultra subscribers receive the highest user limits within Flow, enabling 1080p video generation, advanced camera controls, and early access to Veo 3.

The plan includes boosted access to Whisk, a tool that helps users visualise ideas using text and image prompts. Ultra subscribers will benefit from increased limits for Whisk Animate, which creates eight-second videos from images using Veo 2.

Later in the year, NotebookLM will be updated to provide Ultra subscribers with access to higher usage limits and improved model capabilities for a range of tasks including studying, teaching, and project management.

Google AI Ultra also integrates AI features across widely used applications. It offers access to Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Vids, and other Google services to facilitate everyday tasks. Beginning tomorrow, Ultra subscribers in the US will have early access to Gemini within the Chrome browser, which is intended to help users interpret complex webpages and complete web-based tasks using the context of the current page.

Subscribers will have access to Project Mariner, described as "an agentic research prototype" designed to help manage up to 10 tasks simultaneously. These include functions such as research, bookings, and purchases from a single dashboard.

The plan incorporates a YouTube Premium individual subscription, allowing users to watch and listen to YouTube and YouTube Music ad-free, offline, and in the background. Additionally, it provides 30 TB of storage across Google Photos, Drive, and Gmail for data and file security.

Google has announced improvements to its existing AI Premium plan, which is being renamed Google AI Pro. The organisation said, "For no additional cost, Google AI Pro subscribers will now also get access to AI filmmaking capabilities in Flow, where you can try the tool with our Veo 2 model, as well as early access to Gemini in Chrome." These updates will be rolled out to Google AI Pro users in the United States first, with international expansion to follow.

In addition, Google is extending free access to Google AI Pro for a school year to university students in Japan, Brazil, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom, joining students in the United States who already benefit from the offer.
