Dragos partners with Singapore DIS to boost cybersecurity

Yesterday

Dragos and Singapore's Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on enhancing global cybersecurity capabilities.

The agreement, which spans three years, was formalised by Kurt Gaudette, Senior Vice President of Intelligence and Services at Dragos, and Brigadier-General (BG) Edward Chen, DIS Defence Cyber Chief. The signing took place in conjunction with the Critical Infrastructure Defence Exercise (CIDeX) 2024 in Singapore. This exercise is organised by the DIS and the Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore with the aim of fortifying Singapore's defences against cybersecurity threats.

Brigadier-General Edward Chen highlighted the significance of the collaboration, stating, "The DIS continues to expand and build on its partnership with key partners across various sectors, including the tech industry, to further cyber collaboration. This MOU with Dragos speaks to our close partnership, and we look forward to working closely in the year ahead."

Kurt Gaudette expressed admiration for Singapore's approach to cybersecurity, commenting, "Singapore's proactive approach to cybersecurity is truly impressive and serves as an example for other nations to follow to ensure safety for their critical infrastructure and their citizens. Together, the DIS and Dragos are committed to empowering Singapore with the necessary tools and knowledge to navigate the evolving cyber threat landscape."

This development marks a continuation of Dragos' involvement with Singapore in cybersecurity, following a previous MoU with the Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore aimed at bolstering the country's capabilities in operational technology (OT) cybersecurity, signed in August 2023.

The Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS), a component of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), was established in 2022 as part of efforts to transform the Next Generation SAF. The DIS integrates Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I), as well as cyber capabilities, to defend Singapore's digital domain. It collaborates with partners from various sectors, including government agencies, academia, and industry, to enhance national security.

DIS has a mission to build a skilled digital workforce and maintain Singapore's digital defence, thus ensuring the nation's peace and sovereignty. It continually recruits and develops digital experts from both military and civilian backgrounds.

Dragos, headquartered in the Washington, DC area, specialises in OT cybersecurity, providing technology for industrial and critical infrastructure sectors such as electric, oil and gas, manufacturing, water, transportation, mining, and government. Its platform offers visibility and monitoring of OT environments, identifying vulnerabilities and detecting threats through its extensive OT threat intelligence and services team. The company has operations across North America, EMEA, and APAC.
