Wed, 4th Oct 2023
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Work operating system provider, monday.com, has revealed the promotion of Dean Swan to General Manager of the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. Prior to this appointment, Swan served as Regional Vice President of APJ, where he made notable strides toward driving customer growth and resource expansion.

Swan, one of monday.com's initial employees in Australia, played a crucial role in increasing the region's Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) customer base by 143% since 2020. His managerial acumen guided the company's local team to a 20-fold increase and contributed to opening the regional headquarters in Sydney earlier this year. Swan's new responsibilities will see him supervising all of monday.com's APJ teams, including those based in Australia, Singapore, and Japan.

The promotion to General Manager of APJ will involve a strategic move toward supporting monday.com's new hybrid regional structure. As part of the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) leadership team, Swan will be tasked with managing revenue and retention across the region. This appointment aligns with the implementation of a new regional structure as of 1st September 2023.

This structure entails a hybrid model that empowers regional areas while maintaining a link to core global functions. Each region will be led by a regional leader who will own and be accountable for the entire revenue and retention, driving annual recurring revenue, and ensuring alignment of all client-facing and supporting operational functions with regional goals. Other leaders serving similar roles will be present in North America and EMEA.

In his new position, Dean Swan will focus on further amplifying operational excellence throughout the APJ teams. He will continue to report to monday.com's CRO, Yoni Osherov, while also striving to expand product growth areas such as monday sales, CRM, and monday dev.

Dean Swan shared his enthusiasm, stating, "It's been an incredible journey since launching monday.com in Australia, and I'm looking forward to continuing to expand our multi-product offering across the APJ market in my new role. This new structure will ensure we're delivering the utmost value to our customers based on their regional needs."

This structural reconstruction to a hybrid model is seen by CRO Osherov as a "natural next step." Osherov praised Swan for his role in guiding monday.com's rapid evolution in the APJ region. He says, "This new structure brings a level of uniqueness to each region which is crucial as we scale. Each regional leader will have the autonomy to create strategies that are tailored to specific market needs."

Apart from Dean Swan's promotion, this shift is also supported by the elevation of Jamison Powell to GM of North America and the company's first Senior Vice President of Sales.
