Custocy partners with Enea to enhance AI-powered security platform

Thu, 5th Sep 2024

Custocy has announced its collaboration with Enea to integrate its deep packet inspection (DPI) and intrusion detection software into Custocy’s AI-powered network detection and response (NDR) platform. The partnership aims to enhance the accuracy and performance of Custocy’s cybersecurity solutions, focusing on detailed traffic visibility and efficient data inspection.

Custocy employs a layered, multi-temporal AI methodology designed to detect both immediate threats and persistent attacks. This approach assists security analysts by streamlining attack path visualization, improving threat prioritisation, and significantly reducing the number of false positives. By incorporating Enea’s DPI software, Custocy expects to support these innovations while meeting high performance demands.

Sebastien Sivignon, CEO of Custocy, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: “We are thrilled to join forces with Enea to offer our customers the highest level of network intrusion detection. The Enea Qosmos ixEngine is the industry gold standard for network traffic data. It offers a level of accuracy and depth conventional DPI and packet sniffing tools cannot match. Having such a rich source of clean, well-structured, ready-to-use data will enable us to dramatically improve our performance, work more efficiently and devote maximum time to AI model innovation.”

The Enea Qosmos ixEngine DPI engine, noted for its extensive use in the cybersecurity sector, recognises over 4,500 protocols and delivers 5,900 metadata items, including unique anomaly indicators. This robust functionality supports AI-driven innovations, such as Custocy’s solutions.

Jean-Pierre Coury, Senior Vice President of Enea’s Embedded Security Business Group, praised Custocy’s approach: “Custocy has developed their solution from the ground up to exploit the unique potential of AI to enhance advanced threat detection and security operations. AI is truly woven into their DNA, and I look forward to the additional value they will deliver to their customers as they leverage the enhanced data foundation delivered by Enea software to support their continuous AI innovation.”

The integration also includes Enea’s Qosmos Threat Detection SDK, which promises a twofold improvement in product performance by eliminating double packet processing for DPI and IDS. This optimisation reduces resource strain and enhances the efficiency of the NDR solution. The packet acquisition and parsing capabilities of the Enea Qosmos ixEngine further accelerate parsing speed, offering expanded traffic insights that are critical for next-generation threat detection and custom rule development.

The demand for high-performance NDR solutions is at an all-time high, particularly for detecting unknown and advanced persistent threats (APTs). Threat actors are increasingly adopting AI tools and techniques, making the detection of these sophisticated threats more challenging. Custocy, with its core AI technologies, is positioned to support both private and public organisations in tackling these evolving cybersecurity threats.

This partnership aligns with Custocy’s mission to leverage AI for enhancing advanced threat detection and security operations. The integration of Enea’s DPI and IDS software is anticipated to build on Custocy’s recent recognition, including being awarded Product of the Year at Cyber Show Paris.
