Colt delivers 1000 Versa SD-WAN services spanning 55 nations

Mon, 4th Mar 2024

Colt Technology Services, in partnership with Versa Networks, has reached significant milestones in its dedication to simplifying and automating digital services for its customers globally, reaching 55 nations, including Asian and East Asian nations such as Japan and China. They have achieved this by delivering 1000 Versa Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) services.

This development is characterised by the accelerated rise in the SD-WAN and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) business sector, as a response to corporate security concerns, the need for remote working options, and the cloud migration wave.

Colt's achievement of remotely providing 1000 Versa SD-WAN services comes after its launch in April 2023. Utilising Versa's SD-WAN platform capabilities, Colt has developed an automation framework which fully integrates with internal systems via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). The process of automating these services has resulted in a significant decrease in provisioning time, from 90 minutes to a mere 12 seconds. This equally minimises the risk of manual error, thus liberating businesses from the task of managing and monitoring digital infrastructure themselves.

The burgeoning interest and growth in Colt's SD-WAN and SASE services have been influenced by a combination of factors. Key among these impetuses are security concerns in enterprise, a surge in cloud migration, the growing demand for remote working in a changing market environment, and the need for flexibility. Remarkably, this technology also aids enterprises in fulfilling their commitments to reducing emissions. It achieves this by directing traffic based on application use and choosing more energy-efficient pathways for non-critical applications.

Insights from the 2023 Gartner report disclose that the SASE market, where SD-WAN falls under, is projected to make a significant leap from $7 billion in 2022 to an astounding $25 billion by 2027, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 29%.

Carlos Jesus, Vice President - Service Delivery at Colt Technology Services, noted, "We listen intently to our customers and constantly look for ways to improve and innovate to make their lives easier. Automating and simplifying the delivery of our SD WAN services is a critical part of this continuous improvement mission. Remotely provisioning our 1000th Versa SD-WAN service shows how important automation has become in our customers' journeys to digital transformation. It's a testament to the strength of our longstanding partnership with Versa."

Hector Avalos, Vice President of EMEA MSPs at Versa Networks, voiced his delight at the partnership with Colt. He stated, "The enhanced combination of our capabilities and Colt's technology bridges the gap between an organisation's business objectives and enforcement of Versa's SD-WAN network, enabling Colt's customers to achieve faster time-to-value, reduced costs, and improved agility."

This milestone is announced on the hundredth day following Colt's acquisition of Lumen EMEA in November 2023. Since the acquisition, Colt has consistently prioritised the seamless integration of the organisations to offer greater scale and services to its customers globally.
