Charter Global unveils Assistly for small senior care homes
Charter Global has announced the launch of Assistly, a cloud-based platform to support operations in small to mid-sized senior care facilities.
Assistly was developed in just 90 days, led by Chief Technology Officer Rajesh Indurthi and a team of five engineers. The initial concept was formed in Indurthi's basement, prompted by his own experiences managing a personal care home and witnessing the compliance and efficiency issues that smaller facilities often encounter.
The platform aims to address these challenges by offering tools to digitise care documentation, automate medication tracking, streamline regulatory compliance and enhance family-caregiver communication. Its design emphasises simplicity, affordability and power, distinct from the legacy systems typically available in the market, which Indurthi described as either prohibitively expensive or overly complicated for smaller operators.
"I knew there was a gap," said Rajesh Indurthi, CTO of Charter Global. "Legacy platforms were either too expensive or too complex. Smaller care homes were left behind. We built Assistly to be simple, affordable and powerful without the red tape."
Work on Assistly was accelerated at Charter Global's Innovation Hub, using a methodology that involves deep discovery, rapid prototyping, agile development and iterative testing. This methodology, combined with a secure cloud architecture, enabled the development team to take the product from idea to launch in less than four months.
Assistly's core features include AI-powered resident documentation and care tracking, a medication scheduling system with real-time alerts, and a secure portal for communication between family members and caregivers. The solution has been developed to comply with HIPAA and GDPR data security standards and integrates with electronic medical records, scheduling and billing systems. Additionally, predictive analytics support staffing and care planning decisions.
Looking towards future releases, Assistly will expand with new capabilities such as AI-driven smart scheduling and the provision of individualised care plans for each resident. The platform will also introduce a compliance module for regulatory adherence and advanced analytics dashboards, providing facility operators, caregivers and families with detailed insights.
Murli Reddy, CEO of Charter Global, highlighted Assistly as a tangible demonstration of the company's broader product development approach. "Assistly is proof," said Murli Reddy, CEO of Charter Global. "Proof that we don't just consult. We build. Our ideation-to-launch services aren't theory. They're engineered for speed, quality and purpose."
Charter Global intends to make its ideation-to-launch service available to other organisations seeking to rapidly develop digital products in healthcare, fintech, supply chain and other sectors, using the same methodology proven in Assistly's build.
"We built Assistly for the caregiving world," said Indurthi. "But our model works for any company with a bold idea. You bring the vision, we'll bring it to life."
