CelcomDigi has introduced refreshed roaming passes from RM10 for prepaid and postpaid customers across up to 95 destinations.

The revised offers are open to all customers, with no minimum prepaid or postpaid plan commitment. CelcomDigi has also simplified roaming options across both customer groups and included up to 30 minutes of free calls to Malaysia and within the destination country on all passes.

Customers can pre-book roaming passes up to 14 days before departure through the CelcomDigi app. The passes also support multi-destination roaming across three zones: Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand; a newly introduced Asia Zone; and a Worldwide Zone.

The updated offers are designed to help travellers stay connected on their existing numbers when they arrive abroad, without changing SIM cards, installing eSIM profiles or buying local SIMs. 5G roaming is also available in supported destinations.

Prepaid offers

For prepaid users, entry-level roaming prices start at RM10. The passes come with fixed high-speed data quotas, allowing customers to choose a pass based on expected usage and add more data when needed.

This lowers the starting cost of roaming for travellers who want tighter control over spending. It also broadens access for customers who may not want to commit to higher-value plans before travelling.

Postpaid plans

Postpaid customers can buy unlimited roaming passes from RM30. These include unlimited 5G data where supported.

Eligible customers on Postpaid 5G 120 plans and above can receive 50% savings on selected roaming passes. CelcomDigi is also offering monthly recurring roaming plans from RM20 a month with a contract, or RM40 a month without one.

These recurring plans are aimed at frequent travellers who want roaming access throughout the year with a single opt-in. They also reflect how operators are packaging international mobile use as a regular add-on rather than an occasional purchase.

Wider network

CelcomDigi says the refreshed roaming passes connect customers through leading mobile networks in covered destinations. It describes the wider availability as part of an effort to make overseas connectivity more accessible and easier to manage.

The changes come as mobile operators in Southeast Asia continue to compete on travel-related services, especially for customers travelling across regional markets for holidays and business trips. Pricing, simplicity and cross-border coverage have become key points of differentiation as users compare roaming with local SIM and eSIM alternatives.

CelcomDigi is Malaysia's largest mobile network operator, with more than 20.3 million users. That scale gives the company a large domestic audience for travel add-ons as outbound travel demand remains an important revenue opportunity for telecom groups.

The roaming passes are available through the CelcomDigi app. Customers overseas can also subscribe by dialling *800#.
