Builder.ai appoints new VP of Revenue & Partnerships for Asia Pacific
In a significant move bolstering its leadership team, Builder.ai, the AI-powered software platform revolutionising digital transformation, announced the appointment of Peter Sharples as Vice President of Revenue and Partnerships for Asia Pacific. Sharples, an experienced professional with over two decades in sales and partnerships, transitions from his notable tenure at Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) to this pivotal role.
Sharples' journey at AWS spanned over seven years, where he held key leadership roles in the channel business, significantly contributing to the company's growth in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. His global exposure, leading teams in Singapore and Seattle, and his last role as the Director of Partner Core Asia Pacific and Japan based in Sydney, have equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the market dynamics in this region.
Sachin Dev Duggal, Founder & Chief Wizard of Builder.ai, expressed his enthusiasm for Sharples' appointment, "I'm excited to welcome someone with Peter's calibre to the team. I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with Peter for over two years during our AWS partnership. His deep experience, with over 20 years in sales and partnering, including a transformative seven years at AWS, positions him uniquely for this role. His leadership and insights will be instrumental in shaping our strategy for the Asia Pacific region."
Sharples joins Builder.ai after significant achievements at AWS, where he led various teams across APJ. His tenure at AWS, coupled with previous leadership roles at CA Technologies, Symantec, and Telstra, endows him with a unique blend of expertise in technology and regional market nuances.
Commenting on his new role, Sharples said, "I am thrilled to be joining the leadership team at Builder.ai. Having been involved with Builder as a partner, I have admired the way Builder.ai has democratized software, the same way AWS democratized infrastructure. AI as a whole is moving out of the novelty phase and developing into serious business applications, and Builder.ai is simply ahead of the curve here. I am excited to bring this next level of innovation to our customers and partners in Asia Pacific and grow the business into new markets."
Sharples' responsibilities will include scaling Builder.ai's existing operations in India and Singapore and exploring partnership opportunities in Australia and New Zealand. Duggal added, "Having personally seen his remarkable ability to foster partnerships and drive growth, I am confident that his joining marks a new era of innovation and expansion for us, especially in Australia and New Zealand which are great markets for new tech with a vibrant SMB ecosystem. I am truly excited for the journey ahead as we, together with Peter, continue to redefine the boundaries of AI and software democratization in Asia Pacific."
