BlackBerry appoints Neelam Sandhu as CMO

BlackBerry Limited has announced the appointment of Neelam Sandhu as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). In her new role, Sandhu will be tasked with spearheading BlackBerry's marketing endeavours, encompassing public relations, social media, editorial content, branding, advertising, web, and corporate events.

Sandhu, who has been part of BlackBerry since 2009, has an extensive background within the company's various offices in the United Kingdom, New York, and California. She has played significant roles in brand management, brand messaging, marketing operations, go-to-market planning, corporate strategic initiatives, and CEO office business operations.

In addition to her role as CMO, Sandhu also serves as BlackBerry’s Chief Elite Customer Success Officer, reporting directly to BlackBerry Executive Chairman and CEO, John Chen. She leads the strategic relationships, sales and co-sell, and customer success, including strategic product engineering with BlackBerry's top customers and top target customers. Her efforts have driven clients to gain long-term competitive advantages by leveraging the depth and breadth of the BlackBerry platform.

Furthermore, Sandhu holds the position of Head of Sustainability, responsible for corporate sustainability at BlackBerry. Under her leadership, the company has released its inaugural Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report and achieved carbon neutral status.

Sandhu's expertise is backed by over 15 years of experience, showcasing success in marketing, product, operations, sales, and business development. Her profound understanding of the swiftly converging cybersecurity and IoT industries, coupled with an unparalleled passion for the BlackBerry brand, makes her a vital asset to the organization.

Outside of BlackBerry, Sandhu serves on the board of AFCEA DC and won the FedScoop Best Bosses in Federal IT award in 2022. Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree, with Honors, in Business Management from the University of Leicester, and an Executive Certification in Financial Analysis from the University of California at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
