AutoStore unveils CubeVerse AI platform for warehouses

Fri, 20th Mar 2026

AutoStore has launched CubeVerse, a new cloud software platform, and introduced AI-driven tools under the AutoStore Intelligence brand, as the warehouse automation supplier pushes further into analytics and software-led optimisation.

AutoStore described the release as a shift towards systems that adjust operations in real time. The offering combines cloud software, analytics and robotic workflows, and is designed to increase throughput on existing installations without adding robots or expanding the grid.

AutoStore's core product is a cube-based storage and retrieval system in which robots run on top of a grid and move bins to workstations. The new announcements focus on software layers spanning system design, deployment and day-to-day operations. The tools are intended to work alongside existing Warehouse Management Systems and Warehouse Execution Systems, rather than replace them.

Chief Product Officer Parth Joshi framed the change as a response to the increasing pace and complexity of fulfilment operations.

"Fulfilment is becoming a real-time, intelligence-driven discipline. If systems can't sense, decide, and adapt continuously, everything upstream breaks," said Parth Joshi, Chief Product Officer, AutoStore.

CubeVerse is positioned as a unifying cloud platform that brings together data, applications and AI functions across the life of a fulfilment system. AutoStore described it as a single environment spanning design and simulation, deployment, daily operations, analytics and optimisation. It said the platform simplifies integration work and helps keep processes consistent across sites.

Software focus

The release reflects a broader trend in warehouse automation: many operators have already invested heavily in equipment and now want more return from existing assets. AutoStore cited a challenge in which 75% of companies say synchronising their supply chain is difficult as logistics networks become more complex. The new tools target coordination across machines, software, data and people.

AutoStore Intelligence is the umbrella for AI-driven functions embedded across CubeVerse. AutoStore said it applies AI to operational data to orchestrate fulfilment in real time, reduce congestion and clear bottlenecks, with the aim of increasing throughput during peak periods-without additional robots or grid expansion.

The Intelligence layer includes more than 20 proprietary models, which predict issues and recommend changes to improve operations. AutoStore said performance improves over time as the models incorporate live system data.

Analytics and control

One new module, CubeAnalytics, presents system data as real-time insights and recommended actions. AutoStore said it automatically surfaces patterns and issues, helping reduce downtime and reliance on specialist in-house expertise.

Another module, CubeControl, focuses on robot movement across the grid. AutoStore said it uses AI to tailor routing parameters and create optimised robot "highways" for larger, robot-dense installations, improving traffic flow and increasing throughput without new hardware.

Robotic picking

The portfolio also includes VersaAI, which AutoStore described as robotic piece picking using vision and AI. It presented the product as an expansion beyond storage and retrieval into autonomous order preparation.

VersaAI covers order preparation, consolidation and staging, and is intended to increase overall utilisation of AutoStore installations. AutoStore linked the product to longer operating hours, including full 24/7 operation as a target outcome for some sites.

Design tools

CubeStudio is the first major application added to CubeVerse, according to AutoStore. It is a shared, cloud-based environment for system design, simulation and validation, intended for AutoStore and its partners as they plan and assess system configurations.

Alongside the software and AI tools, AutoStore announced "Cube Enhancements" covering physical and integration elements around its systems. These include new workstation layouts and expanded bin and case support, which AutoStore said provide flexibility as volumes, stock keeping units and workflows change, without a grid rebuild.

The list also includes expanded case support in AutoCase, a simplified WMS integration option through VersaPort, and upgraded industrial PCs for larger systems.

Joshi said the announcements are part of a broader product direction for the company.

"With the launch of the CubeVerse platform and our AI-driven capabilities, we're bringing intelligence across the entire lifecycle-from design to daily operations to advanced analytics to optimizations. This is a major first step in our AI strategy and reinforces our focus on innovation as the market leader in automated fulfillment," said Joshi.

AutoStore said it has more than 1,900 systems installed across more than 65 countries, and expects learnings from that installed base to feed into ongoing improvements to CubeVerse and AutoStore Intelligence.
