ADLINK & LIPS launch AMR 3D x AI vision solution

Today

ADLINK has announced a partnership with LIPS to launch the AMR 3D x AI Vision Solution, utilising NVIDIA Isaac Perceptor to enhance autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) with advanced 3D vision and edge computing capabilities.

The new solution integrates ADLINK's DLAP-411-Orin platform powered by the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin with LIPSedge 3D cameras, forming the LIPSAMR Perception DevKit. This collaboration aims to provide high-precision 3D perception for applications, particularly within the smart manufacturing and warehouse logistics sectors.

The DLAP-411-Orin platform delivers up to 275 TOPS of AI performance, supporting the synchronisation of multiple cameras to meet the demanding needs of complex multi-vision applications. This is seen as a significant enhancement for intelligent decision-making processes in robotics.

Ethan Chen, BU General Manager of ADLINK's Edge Computing Platform Business Unit, said, "We are excited to partner with LIPS on the AMR 3D x AI Perception Solution, integrating LIPS' 3D cameras with our DLAP-411-Orin and leveraging the advanced features of NVIDIA Isaac Perceptor. This collaboration enhances AMRs with superior perception and navigation, enabling more precise and intelligent autonomous operations across industrial applications."

The LIPSAMR Perception DevKit also supports NVIDIA Isaac ROS, facilitating robust AMR application development, including AI-powered depth sensing, real-time 3D occupancy grid mapping, and stereo visual odometry. This comprehensive support aims to assist developers in overcoming various task complexities, such as payload handling, especially in unstructured environments.

Luke Liu, CEO of LIPS Corporation, said, "We are pleased to collaborate with NVIDIA and ADLINK. The DLAP-411-Orin platform from ADLINK, combined with LIPS' LIPSedge 3D camera, complements NVIDIA Isaac Perceptor, offering a ready-to-use LIPSAMR Perception DevKit. This integration addresses the critical challenges customers face in AMR integration, opening up new possibilities for developers and users."

The integration passed official NVIDIA certification, indicating the ease of incorporating this solution into existing robotic systems, significantly reducing development times. The ease of integration is presented as a plug-and-play deployment option aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies in target applications.

The solution is designed to be versatile across various industrial scenarios, from automated quality inspections in manufacturing to material handling in logistics. The powerful 3D perception capabilities provided by the LIPSedge 3D cameras through the DLAP-411-Orin platform are highlighted as beneficial for improving navigation accuracy and environmental interactions of robots.
