Westcon-Comstor brings 3D Lab virtual demo platform to APAC
Westcon-Comstor has launched its 3D Lab virtual demo platform in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, expanding access to multivendor solution testing for partners.
The 3D Lab functions as a business enablement centre, designed to let partners and their customers combine technologies from different vendors in a safe, virtual environment before deploying them in live production. This approach, the company says, helps partners preview how integrated solutions will perform, as well as the operational steps needed for implementation.
As digital transformation continues to accelerate in APAC, many organisations are contending with increasing IT complexity, which can present challenges when adopting new technologies. The 3D Lab is aimed at addressing these challenges by offering hands-on access to demo environments that enable the integration and testing of solutions from vendors such as Cisco, Broadcom, Palo Alto Networks, Efficient IP, and Zscaler, among others.
"The launch of 3D Lab in APAC marks a pivotal moment in how we support our partners across the full spectrum of digital transformation. By giving them access to a virtual, multivendor environment, we're empowering technical teams to innovate faster, deploy smarter, and build future-ready infrastructure with confidence. This is more than a platform – it's a catalyst for transformation, enabling our partners to lead the charge in securing the digital future of this region," said Patrick Aronson, APAC Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Westcon-Comstor.
Since its introduction in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, the 3D Lab platform has supported over 3,000 users and helped generate more than $400 million in new business. The launch in APAC makes Westcon-Comstor the only distributor in the region with a multivendor virtual demo lab of comparable scope and scale.
According to Westcon-Comstor, the 3D Lab helps partners in APAC in several key ways: it simplifies the integration of solutions, reduces associated risks, accelerates deployment times, and enhances digital resilience. This is seen as particularly important in APAC, where companies are increasingly focused on safeguarding digital assets against a backdrop of rapid digital and cloud adoption.
Access to the 3D Lab is granted exclusively to members of Westcon-Comstor's Tech Xpert community, a technology-focused group which encourages technical professionals to test solutions, share real-world experiences, and deepen their understanding of system integration.
The Tech Xpert community has seen uptake within the region, with more than 500 members since its launch in September 2024. This growth is viewed by Westcon-Comstor as an indication of strong demand for collaboration and practical engagement among technology professionals in APAC markets.

Partners who join Tech Xpert can engage with other members, take advantage of hands-on trials within the 3D Lab, and discuss integration strategies for multivendor environments. The company states that this approach provides a more realistic and practical assessment of how different technologies will operate together when introduced into existing workflows.
With the addition of the APAC region to its 3D Lab platform, Westcon-Comstor is expanding the opportunities available for its partner network to collaborate, test, and ultimately improve the reliability and resilience of their offerings to customers throughout the region.
