Vertiv appoints Wei Shen as President of Greater China
Vertiv has announced the appointment of Wei Shen as President of Greater China, effective mid-July 2025.
Wei Shen joins Vertiv from Gates Corporation, where he held the position of Vice President and General Manager for Greater China over the past nine years. His career also includes several leadership roles at Eaton Electrical, with responsibilities spanning vice president and general manager for distributed power quality in the Asia-Pacific region, vice president of sales operations and power quality marketing for APAC, and business unit manager for power quality.
Shen brings with him a strong academic background, holding a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science in Automatic Control Engineering from Beihang University.
Vertiv's Chief Executive Officer, Gio Albertazzi, emphasised the depth of experience Shen brings to the role.
"Throughout his career, Wei Shen has demonstrated exceptional ability to drive business transformation through comprehensive growth strategies, enhanced manufacturing efficiencies, and developing high-performing teams. Wei's leadership emphasises excellence in execution, customer-first focus, and strong collaboration, and I'm pleased to welcome him to our executive leadership team as he relocates to the greater Shenzhen area," said Gio Albertazzi, CEO at Vertiv.
Shen succeeds Edward Cui, who has led Vertiv's Greater China operations since 2022. Cui's tenure is noted for providing disciplined leadership that, according to the company, has enhanced the region and positioned it for continued growth.
Company operations
Vertiv is active in providing technologies, solutions, and services aimed at supporting data centres, communication networks, and commercial and industrial facilities. Its portfolio extends to power, cooling, and IT infrastructure solutions and services that support operations from cloud-based systems to local network edges. These offerings are designed to facilitate continuous business operations, enable optimal system performance, and support scalable growth.
The appointment of Shen as President of Greater China marks Vertiv's latest executive change as the company continues to focus on strategic leadership transitions to support regional business objectives. The company reports that building strong leadership teams is integral to its plan for business transformation and ongoing expansion within the Chinese market.
Prior to his most recent role, Shen's experience at Eaton Electrical involved significant responsibility across the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in distributed power quality and sales operations. This experience is expected to contribute to advancing Vertiv's goals within the Greater China region, especially as data centres and digital infrastructure needs grow across Asia.
Based in the greater Shenzhen area, Shen will oversee Vertiv's operations across China, which include supporting local clients with technological infrastructure and services to ensure business continuity.
No additional details were provided regarding transition plans related to Edward Cui's departure or Shen's immediate priorities in his new role.
