Tata Consultancy Services has renewed its title partnership with Jaguar TCS Racing and expanded the agreement to become the team's Official AI Partner, extending a relationship that has run for five years.

The announcement follows Jaguar TCS Racing's 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E Teams' World Championship win, secured with four victories and 10 podiums during the season. The team now enters Formula E's GEN4 era as reigning teams' champions.

The renewed agreement expands TCS's role in the racing operation as Formula E moves into its next technical phase. The companies will examine how artificial intelligence can be applied across racing operations and engineering, while generating insights for future Jaguar electric vehicles.

Jaguar TCS Racing and TCS have worked together through multiple Formula E regulation cycles. During that time, the team won the 2024 and 2026 Teams' World Championships and recorded more wins and podiums than any other team in the GEN3 Evo era.

Over the past five years, the partnership has also focused on digital tools that support race preparation and decision-making. These include cloud systems and digital twin technology that help engineers assess software changes, run simulations and respond under tight time limits during race weekends.

At the centre of that work is TCS's Virtual Vehicle Validation Model, known as V3M. Jaguar TCS Racing engineers use the system to test changes virtually before deployment.

Abhinav Kumar, Global Chief Marketing Officer at TCS, said: "This partnership demonstrates what is possible when world-class teams come together with a shared ambition to innovate. At the close of a great season, culminating in the Teams' World Championship, we are pleased to extend our partnership and build on that momentum as Formula E enters the GEN4 era. With this renewal, we will further harness AI and advanced technologies to unlock new performance opportunities to help Jaguar TCS Racing compete for more podiums and championship wins."

The partnership also reflects a broader relationship between TCS and JLR that has lasted for more than a decade. TCS described itself as a long-term strategic partner to the carmaker.

Track to road

Formula E has become an important development arena for manufacturers seeking to refine electric vehicle systems in competitive conditions. For Jaguar, the series provides a platform to develop its powertrain technology while testing software and engineering changes in a tightly regulated environment.

The team returned to racing in 2016 as the first luxury manufacturer to join Formula E. Since then, Jaguar TCS Racing has recorded more than 20 race victories and more than 60 podium finishes. It won the Teams' World Championship and Manufacturer's Trophy in 2024 before adding another Teams' title in 2026.

Jaguar has also committed to Formula E's GEN4 era, which runs from 2026 through Seasons 13 to 16. As an official manufacturer team, it designs its own powertrain, including the motor generator unit, transmission, inverter and rear suspension, while shared chassis and battery components are used across the grid to contain costs.

That structure means manufacturers focus much of their development effort on powertrain efficiency and weight reduction, areas that can feed into road car engineering. The latest agreement with TCS is intended to strengthen that link between racing data and vehicle development.

Chris Thorp, Chairman of JLR Motorsport, which operates Jaguar TCS Racing, said: "Our partnership with TCS has been instrumental in helping Jaguar TCS Racing push the boundaries of performance, efficiency, and innovation. As the Championship enters the GEN4 era, this collaboration helps us drive the future of all-electric motorsport while informing the next generation of Jaguar cars. Extending our partnership with TCS is grounded in proven delivery, shared values, and a clear vision for how data and AI can elevate motorsport performance."

UK footprint

The deal also comes as TCS expands its UK presence. The company says it has operated in the market for 50 years and works with more than 200 British brands. Earlier this year, it announced plans to create 5,000 new jobs across the UK over the next three years.

Outside motorsport, the partnership has also been used in education programmes linked to science, data and sustainability. Through TCS's Ignite My Future initiative, nearly 30,000 students in 16 countries have used lesson plans and materials based on racing data, design and strategy since 2023.

Students have also taken part in trackside experiences with TCS and Jaguar TCS Racing at Formula E events around the world. The companies said these activities are part of a wider effort to encourage interest in engineering, data science and sustainability among younger audiences.

TCS reported consolidated revenue of more than USD $30 billion in the financial year to the end of March 2026.
