Tapway partners with Thai firms to boost Vision AI reach in Thailand

Wed, 10th Sep 2025

Tapway has announced new partnerships with three Thai firms to expand the reach of its Vision AI platform, SamurAI, in Thailand, following its earlier expansion into Indonesia.

Tapway's appointment of Advantech, Appomax, and S I Media as official channel partners marks a further step in building its network across Southeast Asia, which now includes Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand.

The company is pursuing a channel-first approach to introduce Vision AI technology to new markets, targeting a broad range of sectors such as retail, manufacturing, logistics, and smart city infrastructure. The partnerships are expected to facilitate the distribution of SamurAI licenses in Thailand, with local partners providing technical expertise as well as support and implementation services.

Lim Chee How, CEO of Tapway, said, "Following our successful partnerships in Indonesia, we are now expanding into Thailand to meet the increasing need for intelligent automation. These partnerships mark another important step toward making Vision AI accessible, scalable, and locally relevant for businesses across Southeast Asia."

Tapway's SamurAI platform, introduced in 2024, is designed for coding-free deployment of AI-powered visual analytics using either prebuilt or customisable models. The company reports that the technology is already in use at more than 2,000 locations throughout Southeast Asia and intends to double that number over the next two years.

Through its strategic channel partnerships, Tapway aims to make advanced Vision AI tools more accessible, particularly to small and medium-sized enterprises that may have limited budgets for automation technologies.

Matrix Choong, General Manager, Advantech Corporation (Thailand), said, "We are committed to developing a strong partnership with Tapway to drive growth together through the development of applications for smart cities and smart factories. Tapway's powerful platform enables us to create Vision AI solutions for inspection, analytics, and advanced business intelligence (BI), enhancing our capability to deliver targeted, problem-solving services for our VIP customers. With Tapway's technology and close support from their developer team, as stated in our MOU, we are confident in our ability to grow together, address critical customer challenges, and build a smarter future."

According to Tapway, SamurAI's pricing structure, deployment time, and customisability are central elements aimed at lowering the entry barriers for business adoption of Vision AI.

Vikan Chirawatpongsa, CEO of Appomax, commented, "Our collaboration with Tapway delivers AI Vision that is truly accessible - quick to deploy, intuitive to operate, and flexible enough for customers to train additional models on their own. Combined with a reasonable price point, often far below comparable end-user platforms, it enables manufacturers to adopt advanced AI capabilities without high costs or complexity."

For S I Media, the growing attention towards AI in Thailand provides a backdrop for the partnership.

Sorathat Rattanawekhinrak, Managing Director, S I MEDIA, stated, "AI has become more and more talked about in Thailand over the past years. Customers started asking how AI fits into any parts of their usual processes. Tapway brings a real experience to the table in significant ways. Helping various businesses to blend in technology with real-life use cases is creating enormous business opportunities for years to come."

Tapway is seeking to install 500 Vision AI camera licenses in Thailand within the next 12 months, supporting its expansion objectives and introduction of SamurAI to a variety of business environments.

"We are targeting the installation of 500 camera licenses in Thailand within the next 12 months," said Chee How.

With these partnerships, Tapway is seeking to empower businesses across Thailand to leverage AI-powered computer vision for improved safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
