Tapway & Asteria launch AIoT platform for Japan market

Fri, 6th Dec 2024

Tapway and Asteria have unveiled the AIoT Suite, a platform combining AI and IoT technologies for manufacturing companies in Japan.

Kuala Lumpur's Tapway, a Vision AI software developer, has partnered with Tokyo-based Asteria to launch the AIoT Suite. This platform integrates Tapway's Vision AI software with Asteria's Gravio no-code IoT software. The suite aims to automate tasks in manufacturing sectors, addressing issues such as quality inspections, PPE compliance, and health and safety monitoring. Using cameras for data capture, the platform automates visual inspections and initiates automated actions via IoT devices.

The Japanese version of the AIoT Suite was introduced in Tokyo on November 27, following the earlier release of the English version marketed across Southeast Asia and Japan in July.

Lim Chee How, CEO of Tapway, explained, "Many manufacturers struggle to effectively analyse data derived from various systems and devices, and develop in-house AI models due to limited technical expertise and the high costs of maintaining dedicated monitoring staff. AIoT Suite helps them face these challenges head-on, on a single platform."

Yoichiro Hirano, President and CEO of Asteria, stated, "I am thrilled to announce the launch of the Japanese version of AIoT Suite in collaboration with Tapway. With its proven success in Southeast Asia, I am confident that AIoT Suite will address countless challenges for users in the Japanese market and set a new benchmark for AI and IoT combination solutions. At Asteria, we are committed to partnering with Tapway to continuously drive innovation and unlock the value of AI and IoT with the no-code and edge computing domains."

The companies have set a sales target for the AIoT Suite of JPY ¥100 million over the next two years, covering both Japanese and international markets.

The AIoT Suite, thanks to its no-code capability, allows users to create AI inference models and manage data integration with other systems and devices without coding. This software package is available through Asteria's Gravio product website.
