Smart Communications launches AWS-powered data centre in Singapore

Mon, 3rd Nov 2025

Smart Communications has expanded its support for software-as-a-service customers in Singapore and the greater ASEAN region with the introduction of a new data centre powered by Amazon Web Services.

The facility provides local hosting for the company's Conversation Cloud platform, enabling Singaporean organisations to benefit from full functionality while meeting data sovereignty and compliance requirements.

The move aims to address the needs of government agencies and financial institutions in Singapore, sectors that demand robust data control and security in their client interactions. According to Smart Communications, the centre will also support scalability and high performance for enterprise communications.

Enhanced engagement

"Singapore sets the standard for digital engagement, and its citizens expect interactions that are instant, intuitive, and connected," said Nick Smith, General Manager of APAC at Smart Communications. "By hosting the Conversation Cloud locally, we're empowering organisations to deliver the kind of intelligent, two-way digital conversations that meet these expectations, while ensuring data sovereignty, compliance, and world-class performance."

With this development, local organisations can make use of cloud-based tools to transform how they collect data, shifting away from manual or paper-based methods to more seamless and guided digital interactions. This includes the ability to deliver mobile-friendly processes and real-time communication at scale.

Smart Communications' Conversation Cloud platform is designed to support the shift from traditional, often static forms of engagement to dynamic, personalised interaction. It coordinates communications across multiple channels to create a unified customer experience.

Integration and compliance

The Conversation Cloud integrates with over 30 enterprise systems, including Salesforce, Pega, and Guidewire. This is intended to eliminate silos, optimise existing technology investments, and accelerate deployment for organisations with complex infrastructure requirements.

The platform features responsible artificial intelligence capabilities, focusing on regulated industries. According to the company, it ensures content provenance, auditability, and governance, enabling users to adopt AI solutions while keeping transparency and control at the forefront.

With responsible AI functions, enterprises can design and deliver compliant communications. This includes features specifically tailored to conform with industry regulations and enhance organisational control over sensitive data.

Regional growth

The new Singapore data centre forms part of a broader strategy by Smart Communications to support digital transformation in the ASEAN region. Recent months have seen the introduction of products such as SmartHUB and SmartPATH, as well as increased adoption of the company's SmartCOMM and SmartIQ platforms.

Smart Communications reports its solutions are used by over 700 regulated enterprises globally, supporting customer communication processes within compliance frameworks. The addition of the Singapore centre is aimed at supporting further regional expansion and digital adoption.

Through local hosting, regulated businesses in Singapore can now access the full suite of Conversation Cloud capabilities while keeping data within the country.
