Salesforce appoints Iman Muhammad as leader, opens Jakarta office
Salesforce has appointed Iman Muhammad as its first country leader for Indonesia while also opening a new office in Jakarta. This development is part of Salesforce's ongoing efforts to bolster its leadership and operational framework in the Indonesian market, following the establishment of its local entity in August 2023.
Iman Muhammad brings over 30 years of experience in Indonesia's technology sector to his new role. He will oversee business development, sales, and customer success teams with the aim of driving Salesforce's growth and customer success in the region. "Indonesia is rapidly emerging as an economic powerhouse in the ASEAN region, and there's significant opportunity for businesses here to harness the power of CRM, AI, Data, and Trust for growth," Muhammad stated. "I look forward to working closely with our team and partners to drive innovation and deliver exceptional value for our customers in Indonesia."
The new office is located at One Pacific Place, within Jakarta's Sudirman Central Business District. The facility is intended to better support Indonesian organisations in their digital transformation journeys and to unlock further growth opportunities in various technological domains. Sujith Abraham, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Salesforce ASEAN, commented on the significance of the new office, stating, "Salesforce's momentum in ASEAN continues to gain speed as we get closer to our customers with a new office in Jakarta and the appointment of Iman Muhammad as country lead. We're seeing a tremendous response from leading Indonesian companies as they turn to Salesforce as a trusted digital advisor to help them connect to their customers in whole new ways."
Salesforce has been expanding its presence in Indonesia by gaining a sizeable customer base, which includes notable organisations such as Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Eraspace, Lion Parcel, and United Tractors. The company has grown its local workforce to over 30 employees within a year and plans to continue hiring to meet increasing customer demand.
In addition to customer expansion, Salesforce has introduced its Hyperforce platform to the Indonesian market. Hyperforce is a reimagining of Salesforce's platform architecture for the public cloud, which allows enterprise businesses, including those in highly regulated industries, to deploy Salesforce solutions both globally and locally. This initiative provides Indonesian businesses with enhanced capabilities to scale their operations and better serve their customer base.
Salesforce is also extending its commitment to the local Indonesian community through its Volunteer Time Off (VTO) programme. Employees from across the ASEAN region have contributed over 7,300 volunteering hours and have donated more than USD $110,000 to local non-profit organisations this year. This reflects Salesforce's broader mission to support community initiatives alongside business operations.
