Record 17,000 women join SheHacks 2025 digital skills drive

Today

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison's SheHacks 2025 digital empowerment programme has registered a record 17,000 women participants ahead of the registration deadline on 30 June.

The SheHacks initiative is designed to empower Indonesian women by focusing on digital skills development and fostering an ecosystem to support innovation and entrepreneurship among women. Since its launch in April 2025, the programme has drawn participation from women community leaders, entrepreneurs, and female-led micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Indonesia.

Programme scope

This year, SheHacks began with a two-day workshop in Jayapura, named SheHacks Innovate, bringing around 90 women entrepreneurs together for hands-on training. Participants learned about digital branding, content marketing, app-based financial management, and structuring business presentations through the Business Model Canvas framework. Selected top performers from each city will progress to the "Top 5 MSMEs" stage, providing them with access to advanced online mentoring led by industry experts.

The programme is open for registration until 30 June 2025 via the official SheHacks website, offering further opportunities for women interested in advancing their digital skills and business capabilities as SheHacks expands to more regions.

In addition to workshops, SheHacks 2025 features SheConnect Champion, a startup pitching competition held in Bandung, Aceh, and Banjarmasin. Women founders presented their business concepts to panels comprising investors and industry practitioners, with 11 participants vying for a spot among the Top 12 MVPs, entering the next phase of business development support.

Expanding to more regions

SheHacks 2025 has expanded its reach to strategic locations, including Ambon, Nias, Aceh, and Banjarmasin—areas identified as having strong entrepreneurial potential but lacking increased digital access. In July, SheHacks will expand its operations to additional cities, including Banyuwangi and Pamekasan, further broadening its support for women entrepreneurs and local innovators.

Latest data from mid-June indicate that the programme has attracted 17,040 participants in the ideation phase, 342 MVP-level participants, and 25 regional female guide candidates. Indosat has reminded interested members of the public that registrations for the 2025 intake will close on June 30, marking the last opportunity for Indonesian women to participate in this year's series of digital entrepreneurship activities.

Commitment to digital inclusion

According to Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, SheHacks is designed as a long-term initiative to build a more inclusive digital ecosystem. Over the past five years, the programme has supported more than 34,000 women across the country, helping to generate new ideas and drive positive change through practical interventions and capacity building.

"SheHacks is more than just a program—it's a grassroots movement," said Irsyad Sahroni, Director and Chief Human Resource Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison. "We want women from Jayapura to Nias to have equal access to digital opportunities and tangible support to realize their full potential. This is part of our broader mission to empower the nation through inclusive technology."

Indosat states that the programme not only enhances individual digital skills but also works to strengthen women's roles within the national digital economy, including in some of Indonesia's more remote regions. As part of its nationwide digital inclusion strategy, SheHacks plays a key role in Indosat's broader commitment to developing a tech-savvy and resilient society that can contribute and compete in the global digital economy.
