Thu, 23rd May 2024

NetDocuments has unveiled a series of new integrations with Microsoft 365, aimed at enhancing collaboration, security, and productivity for legal professionals. These forward-thinking updates are poised to streamline workflows for lawyers who rely heavily on Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook, and Teams.

A significant feature of this initiative is the integration with Microsoft Copilot. Announced at the Microsoft Build 2024 developers conference, this collaboration will allow legal practitioners to find documents and information within the NetDocuments platform effortlessly. With natural language queries through the NetDocuments Copilot extension, users can access required documents directly within Microsoft 365 applications. Additionally, Copilot integration enables advanced legal-specific automation, driven by NetDocuments' ndMAX generative AI solution. This feature aids in extracting legal data, drafting, and revising content based on firm precedent.

NetDocuments has also improved its email management capabilities within Outlook. Whether firms are adopting the latest Outlook version or moving at their own pace, the enhanced web-based integration ensures a seamless experience. The mail filing feature is also available on Outlook mobile, providing flexibility and consistency across devices.

Another notable enhancement is in Microsoft Teams. NetDocuments has revamped the Teams app to deliver a more integrated and secure user experience. This update minimises the time users spend switching between applications, often referred to as the "toggle tax." The revamped Teams app maintains a seamless look and feel, allowing users to access documents and make notes within Teams, leveraging the full capabilities of the NetDocuments platform.

The new design system from NetDocuments is based on Microsoft's Fluent UI, promising a consistent and intuitive experience across both Microsoft applications and the NetDocuments platform. This design approach will also support the upcoming Progressive Web App, ensuring a cohesive experience across various devices and operating systems.

Josh Baxter, CEO of NetDocuments, expressed pride in the company's ongoing commitment to innovation, stating, "For decades, NetDocuments has been committed to delivering innovative capabilities, solutions, and integrations that enable law firms and legal teams to do their best work." Baxter highlighted the integration with Microsoft as a testament to this commitment, aiming to enhance productivity, collaboration, and the overall user experience for NetDocuments customers.

Srini Raghavan, Vice President of Microsoft Teams Ecosystem at Microsoft, noted the synergy between NetDocuments and Microsoft Copilot, enhancing productivity and collaboration within Microsoft Teams. He added, "NetDocuments' new integration extends the capabilities of Microsoft Copilot to deliver users a seamless interaction between Copilot and the NetDocuments platform right within Microsoft Teams."

These latest advancements reflect NetDocuments' dedication to providing comprehensive solutions that meet the evolving needs of legal professionals. By leveraging state-of-the-art technologies and deep integration with Microsoft 365, NetDocuments is set to revolutionise the way legal teams manage their workflows, ensuring an efficient, secure, and productive environment.
