MongoDB & Google Cloud enhance partnership for advanced AI applications
Wed, 10th Apr 2024

An expanded collaboration between MongoDB and Google Cloud has been announced amidst the Google Next event. The partnership aims to enable more customers to cost-effectively construct, scale and deploy Generative AI applications using MongoDB Atlas Vector Search and Vertex AI from Google Cloud. In addition, industry-specific solutions for the retail and manufacturing sectors are being developed as part of the collaboration.

The partnership intends to facilitate customers' navigation of stringent security and data privacy requirements whilst meeting regulatory needs. "Being awarded Google Cloud Partner of the Year - Marketplace is a testament to our commitment to providing the best solutions for customers building modern applications, while operating under the highest levels of security and data privacy requirements", says Alan Chhabra, Executive Vice President of Partners at MongoDB.

Stephen Orban, Vice President of Migrations, ISVs, and Marketplace at Google Cloud, expresses excitement about the potential benefits of the partnership. He believes that customers will benefit from the world-class generative AI support which both MongoDB and Google Cloud can provide.

Since partnering in 2018, the two technology powerhouses have jointly assisted thousands of customers, including powerhouses like Keller Williams, Powerledger and Rent the Runway, in adopting cloud-native data strategies. The enhanced collaboration is now expected to offer more assistance in isolating and scaling generative AI applications, streamlining the construction of such applications, and enhancing analytical workloads.

Interestingly, the partnership also anticipates making significant forays into the manufacturing sector, providing solutions that enrich and optimise manufacturing and supply chain operations by combining data from a wide variety of sources. In the retail industry, MongoDB is joining Google Cloud's Industry Value Network (IVN) partner program to streamline and accelerate innovation and facilitate the provision of modern shopping experiences.

For highly sensitive workloads and those with significant security requirements, MongoDB Enterprise Advanced (EA) is now available on Google Distributed Cloud (GDC), thus enabling organisations to operate securely while still enjoying the benefits of innovative features and applications. MongoDB is proud to be one of the initial software providers to offer a validated solution for the new Google Cloud Ready - Distributed Cloud program.

Among the companies praising the expanded partnership are Rent the Runway and the global digital transformation consultancy, Kin + Carta. The former highlighted how MongoDB Atlas on Google Cloud allowed the company to concentrate on providing solutions and innovation. Meanwhile, Kin + Carta highlighted how MongoDB’s integrations with BigQuery and Vertex AI provide customers with flexibility when building solutions for their needs.
