Micro Focus appoints Richard Everett as CEO – ANZ
Richard Everett has been appointed to the role of Managing Director – Australia and New Zealand, following the retirement of Peter Fuller.
Everett's focus will be on driving the ANZ team in key immediate growth specialisation areas, including application modernisation and cybersecurity (CyberRes), and longer-term growth specialisation areas such as AI data analytics and governance and IT operations.
This includes a commitment to investing in people and training to ensure employees are empowered to execute Micro Focus' go-to-market strategy, maintaining a culture that fosters talent and supporting global corporate social responsibility initiatives, such as the company's recently announced pledge to reduce global carbon emissions to net zero by 2050.
Everett is an experienced leader with a demonstrated history in the IT sector spanning more than 20 years.
He was also a director and company secretary for Caballarius Investments.
Before this appointment, Everett was the sales director ANZ – southern region for Micro Focus and has also held various leadership roles in Australia and Singapore at companies such as CGI, Unisys, ASG Group and Cisco.
"I am extremely proud that Richard Everett has been appointed to this role from within Micro Focus. His leadership experience is an asset to the team, partners, and customers in ANZ," says Stephen McNulty, President, Asia Pacific and Japan, Micro Focus.
"He is already off to a flying start in continuing the many great successes in the region, and we look forward to seeing him lead the very capable ANZ team into the future," McNulty adds.
"Organisations are facing an ever-present, increasing threat in the cyber space, and Micro Focus is well-positioned to help customers with their security posture to protect their environment, as well as the privacy of their data and their customer's data," Everett says.
"When it comes to application modernisation and transformation strategies, Micro Focus's expertise, coupled with its alliances and partnerships with key hyperscalers, will also benefit customers and prospects in the coming twelve months.
"I am excited to work with the team to help develop future leaders as well as look at the wider impact of what we do in ANZ and the contributions we make to our people, our customers, and the planet."
