Wed, 22nd May 2024

Japan Exchange Group's strategic data and digital business arm, JPX Market Innovation & Research (JPXI), has selected Cloudera to advance its enterprise AI capabilities on its new integrated data services platform, J-LAKE. Cloudera, known for its trusted enterprise AI offerings, will assist JPXI in becoming a global, comprehensive finance and information platform by leveraging cloud technology.

JPXI aims to utilise cloud capabilities to enhance data management and analytics on J-LAKE, thus accelerating business transformation initiatives. Built on Amazon Web Services (AWS), J-LAKE is designed to centralise data management and analytics, supporting business intelligence, AI, machine learning, and stream processing functions. This integration will enable JPXI to distribute insights with greater speed and accuracy in response to client needs.

The partnership will allow JPXI to scale and expand its data distribution services across various industries and borders, courtesy of AWS's extensive technology infrastructure. At the heart of this initiative is Cloudera's hybrid data platform, which supports multiple data architectures and analytics engines through a unified platform. This platform will help JPXI manage the entire data lifecycle, improve the sophistication, and efficiency of operations, as well as to standardise its data architecture.

Kyoichi Nishibata, Director of Digitalisation, IT Business Department at JPXI, commented on the collaboration, saying that by developing J-LAKE in-house, JPXI will be better positioned to respond quickly to customer needs and societal changes. He emphasised the advantages of migrating to Cloudera's public cloud on AWS, including enhanced innovation capabilities and improved efficiency in handling mission-critical data. Nishibata highlighted Cloudera's ability to drastically improve the organisation's operational sophistication and efficiency.

Takeshi Osawa, Managing Director of Cloudera Japan, expressed satisfaction with the partnership. "We are delighted to support JPXI as they look to realise the potential of the public cloud for improved business performance. We are always exploring new ways to strengthen our collaboration with partners like AWS," said Osawa. He added that Cloudera would continue to innovate its data analytics and enterprise AI public cloud offerings to enhance AI-powered productivity for customers.

The collaboration includes Cloudera assisting JPXI with the design and migration of Cloudera Data Platform to AWS. This process encompasses stringent testing and validation phases as JPXI works to integrate Cloudera Public Cloud within its existing systems. The aim is to complete the construction of J-LAKE by the end of the year.

This initiative is a significant move for JPXI as it seeks to leverage public cloud solutions to enhance its data capabilities, ultimately aiming to transform its business operations and offer new, valuable services rapidly. The partnership between Cloudera and JPXI highlights the increasing importance of cloud technology and enterprise AI in driving business innovation and efficiency.
