HUMAIN & NVIDIA in AI partnership to build Saudi data hubs
HUMAIN has entered into a strategic partnership with NVIDIA to develop artificial intelligence infrastructure and capabilities in Saudi Arabia.
The collaboration will see HUMAIN, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, work together with NVIDIA to establish the country as a global centre for AI, GPU cloud computing and digital transformation. This initiative is intended to promote technological innovation and facilitate economic growth in Saudi Arabia and globally.
HUMAIN's plans involve significant investment in building AI factories within the Kingdom, aiming for a projected capacity of up to 500 megawatts over the next five years. The facilities will rely on several hundred thousand of NVIDIA's advanced GPUs. The first phase of the deployment includes an 18,000 NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell AI supercomputer connected via NVIDIA InfiniBand networking.
These AI data centres are designed to provide a secure infrastructure for the training and deployment of sovereign AI models at scale. By offering this foundational technology, HUMAIN and NVIDIA aim to support innovation and digital transformation across industries in Saudi Arabia, as well as more widely on a global scale.
As part of the partnership, HUMAIN will implement the NVIDIA Omniverse platform as a multi-tenant system to promote the development and use of physical AI and robotics. The platform enables simulation, optimisation and operational management of physical environments using human-AI collaborative solutions. Sectors that are set to benefit include manufacturing, logistics and energy, allowing them to create integrated digital twins to increase efficiency, enhance safety and promote sustainability. The project is intended to accelerate Saudi Arabia's transition towards Industry 4.0.
To build a competent national workforce and support the country's AI transformation, both HUMAIN and NVIDIA will undertake large-scale training and upskilling projects. These initiatives will provide thousands of Saudi citizens and developers with practical experience in AI, simulation, robotics and digital twin technologies. The training is intended to help build a robust domestic AI ecosystem, aligning with the goals outlined in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 programme aimed at economic diversification and digital advancement.
Jensen Huang, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of NVIDIA, said, "AI, like electricity and internet, is essential infrastructure for every nation. Together with HUMAIN, we are building AI infrastructure for the people and companies of Saudi Arabia to realize the bold vision of the Kingdom."
His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, said, "We thank NVIDIA for their strategic partnership with the Kingdom. This collaboration with HUMAIN marks a turning point, building the AI factories of the future, unlocking compute and powering the next era of physical AI. This lays the groundwork for a new industrial revolution, anchored in advanced infrastructure, talent and global ambition. This is how Saudi Arabia continues to lead as a partner of choice in shaping the future of AI."
Tareq Amin, Chief Executive Officer of HUMAIN, stated, "Our partnership with NVIDIA is a bold step forward in realizing the Kingdom's ambitions to lead in AI and advanced digital infrastructure. Together, we are building the capacity, capability and a new globally enabled community to shape a future powered by intelligent technology and empowered people."
