Hilton named top hospitality workplace in Asia for eighth year
Hilton has been recognised for the eighth consecutive year as Asia's top-ranking hospitality workplace by Great Place to Work. This year, Hilton placed #2 among the top 100 multinational companies, underscoring the firm's commitment to creating an inclusive, purpose-driven workplace environment that successfully attracts and retains top talent across the region.
Alan Watts, president of Asia Pacific at Hilton, said, "We are deeply honoured to be recognised once again as the top-ranked hospitality workplace in Asia. The hospitality landscape is rapidly evolving, and it remains Hilton's priority to distinguish itself as an employer of choice, and strengthen a culture that values inclusion, growth, and innovation."
The company has focused on adopting new HR technologies and flexible work models to address current talent demands and improve the workplace experience. This transformation includes steps such as streamlining recruitment and onboarding processes and adopting new approaches to hotel staffing that prioritise flexibility and efficiency. Notably, Hilton rolled out a GIG model in China and Japan, making it the first international hotel company to offer flexible employment to over 17,000 gig workers across more than 100 cities in these markets. This initiative has resulted in over 240,000 shifts being completed to date.
Patsy Ng, vice president of Human Resources for Asia Pacific at Hilton, noted, "Every day, our Team Members exemplify the spirit of Hilton's founding purpose—filling the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality—as we serve our guests, our communities, and one another. This incredible achievement reflects their dedication and passion and underscores the strong, inclusive culture they have helped build."
Hilton's milestones this year extend beyond regional recognition. The company was named the top-ranked hospitality employer in Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka. In India, it earned the top spot for the second consecutive year and remains the only hospitality firm to do so. This string of accolades reinforces Hilton's standing as a preferred employer in the hospitality sector.
The prestigious "Best Workplaces in Asia" list is based on direct employee feedback collected by the global research and consulting firm, Great Place to Work. This feedback-driven approach ensures that the rankings reflect genuine employee sentiment, further validating Hilton's strategies in workforce management and team member engagement.
Globally, Hilton also received acclaim, being named the #1 World's Best Workplace by Fortune and Great Place to Work in 2023, the first and only hospitality company to receive this accolade. These global and regional honours collectively signify Hilton's leading position in fostering a welcoming and engaging work environment for its employees worldwide.
Watts elaborated on the future growth prospects, stating, "As the region's fastest-growing hospitality company, we are well on course to surpass 1,000 hotels in Asia Pacific. As we write our next growth chapter, this presents a huge engine of opportunity for our 62,000 Team Members, the driving force behind Hilton's success."
With its continuous focus on an inclusive culture and purpose-driven workplace, Hilton aims to remain an employer of choice in the evolving hospitality landscape. The firm's achievements highlight not only its growth but also its commitment to enriching the lives of its employees and guests alike.
