GigaDevice opens global headquarters in Singapore for reach
GigaDevice has selected Singapore as the site for its new global headquarters as part of its strategy to strengthen its global presence and foster growth in the semiconductor market.
The company, based in Beijing and specialising in Flash memory, 32-bit microcontrollers (MCUs), sensors, and analogue products, officially opened its Singapore premises to support closer customer relationships, build a more agile supply chain, and reinforce its brand and ecosystem across key global markets.
Founded in 2005, GigaDevice has seen rapid expansion in its product offerings. The company's Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) NOR Flash currently holds the second-largest market share globally, accounting for 20.4%. It also ranks seventh worldwide in the 32-bit general-purpose microcontroller segment. GigaDevice's solutions are used across multiple sectors, including industrial, automotive, consumer electronics and the Internet of Things (IoT).
As international demand for smart, connected devices accelerates, particularly in areas such as industrial automation, automotive electronics and intelligent edge devices, GigaDevice is increasing its focus on supply chain flexibility, product innovation, and collaborative ecosystem development. The move is designed to enable the company to respond to the evolving needs of its customers worldwide and position itself for growth in rapidly expanding markets.
Jennifer Zhao, GigaDevice Global Business Chief Executive Officer, commented on the decision to anchor its global hub in Singapore. "We chose Singapore not just for its strategic location, but for its clarity, consistency, and global ambition," Zhao said. "This is more than a regional office—it's a collaborative innovation hub where expertise across disciplines and borders comes together to build smarter systems, accelerate execution, and power what's next."
Singapore's established reputation as a technology and business hub was cited as a significant factor in GigaDevice's decision-making. In particular, the city-state's infrastructure, pro-innovation stance, connectivity, and regulatory environment provide what the company regards as an optimal platform for scaling its operations globally while retaining speed and adaptability.
The GigaDevice global headquarters in Singapore will work in conjunction with the company's group headquarters in China and is set to act as a central platform for global coordination. This will include fostering product innovation tailored to local markets and strengthening cooperation with both customers and supply chain partners. GigaDevice intends to use its Singapore base as a launch point for broader international market engagement and to support the development of a more connected, flexible and responsive ecosystem worldwide.
The company's range of products and solutions is currently deployed across various fields, including industrial, automotive, computing, consumer electronics, IoT, mobile, networking, and communications segments. GigaDevice has achieved several industry certifications, including the ISO26262:2018 automotive functional safety ASIL D certification, IEC 61508 functional safety production certification, and various quality and operational management accreditations. The enterprise has also formed alliances with foundries and testing facilities as part of its continuing efforts to streamline and strengthen its supply chain management.
GigaDevice continues to focus on expanding its global reach while prioritising reliability and product innovation to meet the needs of industries dependent on advanced semiconductor technology.
